New Zealand Residential Tower Wows With Various #Alucobond Custom Colors http://bit.ly/2RZn2XP

New Zealand-based architects Jasmax have a guiding philosophy that states, “Design has the power to inspire the spirit.” Their design of the New Lynn Merchant Quarter Apartments is a testament to that philosophy. Sitting in Auckland, the bold façade underwent a series of restrictions related to its height, specifically the building’s visual impact on the area’s residents. Prompting the architects to design a bold but elegant building in an area that is characterized by low-rise buildings.

Architects Design Incredible Curved Mirror Ceiling In Toronto Transit Station http://bit.ly/2QdMfkq

The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) Station is alien in its design. Its futuristic orientation resembles sci-fi movie architecture. It hides within its ambiguous exterior, a gigantic curved mirrored roof that playfully interacts with commuters.

Serving as the new terminus of the Toronto Transit Commission’s 1 train line, the project was completed by a series of powerhouse designers; designed by Grimshaw Architects, consulted by Arup, with Adamson Associates as the project’s architect of record.

Architects Design Stunning Black Steel Cabins In Canadian Woods

http://bit.ly/2zjYiSJ

Canadian architects Appareil Architecture have designed a pair of corrugated steel cabins deep in a Québec forest. The black painted structures are connected by raised cedar decking that juxtaposes the dark exteriors. The Grand-Pic Chalet offers a warm, secluded hideaway for friends and family to venture in the middle of the rustic outdoors.

As the architects describe, “… the cottage results from a sensitive reading of the magnificent woods in which it is located. The objective was to let ourselves be guided and inspired by the characteristics of the terrain. From the very beginning, this experience allowed us to capture all the potential of the space’s different ambiances.”

https://bit.ly/2qtVSMu

There is a single building material that exudes the feeling of warmth, wood. A home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming is enveloped in a two-toned timber material. The vertical panels are dark-down Douglas fir and the horizontal panels are a light Cedar. The wooden façade allows the home to not only blend in more seamlessly into its surroundings but also provide the comfort every home desires.

Designers Create Adaptive Solution To Small-Scale Living With Mirror-Clad Modular Spaces http://bit.ly/2RbMWXb

Modular construction continues to gain momentum in the architectural market offering a multitude of benefits. Brothers and design-duo Andreas and Jaak Tiik of ÖÖD house created a modular solution from a personal need...

The goal of the ÖÖD house is to create small-scale inhabitable living space that is movable, bold and modern. This idea then transformed to allow the company to expand into a variety of markets, as modular design does, where they began offering the modules in the hospitality or small-scale hotel market as well.
