Armor of Bouyancy
The surface of this icy-blue-steel +1 plate armor features delicate scrollwork engraving reminiscent of curling ocean waves. Though it normally has the same weight and encumbrance as standard plate armor, it is bouyant in volumes of water or similar liquids (but not in viscous substances like lava, mud, or quicksand). Though the armor prevents the wearer from sinking in such liquids, its bulk slows the wearer’s swimming speed by half.

Does anybody want to even attempt trying to explain this to me?

Just a quick not to let you all know I rarely check Hangouts. If you add me as a contact or send me a note there, you might have to nudge me in G+ to let me know. Thanks.

New Oe/1e/BX Monster: Forsaker
As was mentioned on previous of this image, it was inspired by beholder doodle from +Dyson Logos. It's a a forsaker (the opposite of a beholder?). Instead of one gaping maw and a bunch of eyes, it has one eye and a bunch of gaping maws with different bite effects. So here is the full set of stats/description as promised.

Inspired by +Dyson Logos beholder doodle from last night/this morning, I decided to create a forsaker (the opposite of a beholder?). Instead of one gaping maw and a bunch of eyes, it has one eye and a bunch of gaping maws with different bite effects. (A full set of stats/description will come in a couple of days.)

Playing around with some
NEW BASIC PSIONIC ATTACK/DEFENSE MODES

At the end of the day, I think it over-complicates psionic combat. However, I do like that these start to fill things in a bit (e.g., I think cognitive buffet is a nice way of dealing with a cluster of low-level creatures).

Cognitive Buffet
(telekinetic area attack)
PSP Cost: 4
Range: 0'
Duration: instantaneous
Area of Effect: See below

Cognitive buffet batters the mind with a ripple of repeating blows to a semicircular area with a 30' radius. Affected creatures take 1 hit point of damage per 2 psionic levels of the attacker plus 1d3 hit points.

Noetic Jab
(telekinetic individual attack)
PSP Cost: 3
Range: 30'
Duration: instantaneous
Area of Effect: 1 individual

Noetic jab forms a sort of telekinetic arrow that strikes at the higher functions of the brain. Affected creatures who fail their saving throw are affected as determined by a roll of 1d4 on the table below:

Roll Result
1 blinded
2 deafened
3 rendered mute
4 loss of fine control of movement
(–3 “to hit” and +3 AC penalties)

The indicated effect will last for 1 round per psionic levels of the attacker, plus 1d6 rounds.

Logic Curtain
(telepathic individual defense)
PSP Cost: 3
Range: 0'
Duration: 1 round
Area of Effect: 1 individual

Logic curtain protects the mind with an armor-like mesh of logic. It provides a +2 bonus on saves vs. telepathic attack modes, and halves the effects of such attack modes. It does not affect saves or effects related to telekinetic attacks.

Cerebral Mantle
(telekinetic area defense)
PSP Cost: 3
Range: 0'
Duration: 1 round
Area of Effect: 10' radius

Cerebral mantle veils the affected area with layers of thoughts, acting as a sort of “filter” against telekinetic intrusions. It provides a +1 bonus on psionic saves vs. telekinetic attack modes and halves the damage of such attacks. It does not affect saves or effects related to telepathic attacks.

I've posted a new monster on my blog, inspired by the guardian creature from Robert E. Howard's story The Fire of Asshurbanipal.

With the ongoing interest in this product, and the limited stock we have left, we are considering an identical 2nd run kickstarter for this. Just wanted to see if there were enough B/X folks out there who would be interested.

Discharge Gauntlets

These brilliantly shiny steel gauntlets feature a lightning motif on their cuffs. When worn, they cause any non-magical melee weapon held to strike and do damage as a +1 weapon, and on a successful “to hit” roll cause the weapon to deal an additional 1d6 electrical damage. The electrical damage applies only to the first successful strike each round (at that point, the charge is “spent” and 1 round is required for the gloves to recharge). The gauntlets do not affect magical weapons or provide them any “to hit” or damage bonuses (including electrical), but makeshift weapons (e.g. a branch used as a club) do. Striking without a weapon (e.g., punching with a fist) does not benefit from the gloves’ abilities (the weapon is required to channel their magic). Both gloves must be worn by the same character in order to be effective, even if striking with a one-handed weapon; this is required for the gauntlets’ magical “circuit” to be completed.

My first free d30 PDF download in quite some time. Hopefully the first of many I'll be sharing over the summer. Enjoy!
