If praying is a heroic act, does that make the Pope a superhero?
Delta Air Lines customers are saluting Tim Tebow and the Delta crew after they witnessed them running to another passenger’s aid in the middle of a flight.

This seems way too complex for a toaster...

This one didn't hold the bread down anymore either, but it also didn't really toast anymore, just warmed up the bread. Gonna just buy a new one, but I'm keeping some of these parts for other projects.

Totally forgot to bring my real camera. This'll have to do.

I keep expecting a "The Wave" moment, featuring Donald Trump as the teacher.

I didn't learn that until many, many years after I saw the movie (on German TV, dubbed in German, retitled "Die Welle")

Found some interesting bugs in the Windows 10 upgrade process:
- prior to upgrade I had Windows 7 with an (A)dministrator account and a regular (U)ser account, with parental controls for (U) set to disallow login after 8pm
- after the upgrade it was 9:30pm, and setup got stuck trying to log in to (U), since that was disallowed by parental controls but there was no way to skip the account or switch to another one
- I ended up changing the clock in the BIOS to make it continue, but after completing setup it turned out that (U) was now also an administrator (!)
- there appeared to be no parental controls anymore, so while (U) is still restricted, there's no way to change that

Still, I got my free Windows 10 upgrade, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

Because mainstream support for Windows 7 has already ended, and it's got less than 3 years of extended support left.
Might as well upgrade to the latest while it's still free.

And today another one died. They're supposed to last for tens of thousands of hours, but I'm starting to think they're no better than incandescents, just more expensive and not as nice.

These +Cree, Inc. LED bulbs are supposed to last a long time, but this one had a different plan and started flickering very dimly after about a year of service. When I unscrewed it, this happened:

I don't think their strategy for evaluating the MTBF is good. I have had several of these fail as well.

How this did not go viral when it was posted 4 years ago is one of the great mysteries of the internet.

This was a great show in the 80's.
If you missed it, HBO is currently doing reruns.

I wonder what this "amazing future" is that Trump predicted for "tough, smart" Ted Cruz.
Vice President Lyin' Ted?
Secretary of State Lyin' Ted?
Supreme Court Justice Lyin' Ted?

Just saw what looked like a brand new (read: very shiny, dealer plates) Hummer H2, lifted and with big knobby tires.
I didn't think anyone even wanted cars like that anymore, so I'm guessing a hipster bought it ironically.

That wasn't about avoiding paying for registration (you have to pay anyway), but about avoiding having to put plates on it.

Any minute now, somebody's going to photoshop three fingers out of that picture...
Hillary is now the presumptive Democratic nominee. After a five-state sweep, Donald Trump will be almost impossible to beat if he wins Indiana.
