As I mentioned about 6 months ago, in my most recent previous post, UX disaster introduced in mid-May [2013] made G+ nearly unusable for me. Google still hasn't fixed anything, means they don't have a clue - Sorry Google you can't do everything right.

I've decided not to delete my account (for now) but I will delete as much content as possible, including all pages and probably also delete all circle connections, as soon as I find some free time for this mundane task.

I've never had a facebook account. As far as social apps go I guess I will be on Twitter, as long as they don't switch to an unusable multi-column layout, at @asvguy.

Thank you all, see you somewhere else.

Best,
Burak

Leaving Google+ for now

UX disaster introduced in mid-May made G+ nearly unusable for me.

I don't have the time or desire to  navigate through this epic UX fail. I will miss the good information shared here, but I hope if the information is valuable enough it will also float through other channels like twitter.

I will check back before start of 2014 and if it hasn't been fixed, I will delete my G+ account.

I'm writing this to let you know that I will not be able to follow you (add you to my circles), accept any invitation, +1 any of your posts or reply to any comment.

Thanks!

Best,
Burak

Wow this new UI is shit. It's like every person with a feature had to have their little idea jump in your fucking face every mouse move. The things you are actually here for take a back seat to the heros of the UI department.

How can I have 1 column look in new G+ without having a small sized browser window?

I think it may be the time for me to say goodbye to G+. I wasn't using it much lately anyway.

On explaining part of why they've abandoned boxed software sales, Adobe senior director Scott Morris explains: "It’s actually very taxing on us internally to be maintaining two different code bases."

This move may be a fine one, but Adobe does sure seem to complain a lot that engineering is hard. Engineering to support runtimes on devices is too hard. Engineering to support multiple codebases is too hard.

It's almost like it's a surprise to the execs that they are running a software engineering company.
