This rainy weather calls for.....
Winter has finally made it's appearance loud and clear. For last few days temperatures have been steadily dropping, evenings are chilly, mornings are frosty, my hot cup of chocolate is just that much more warming to body and soul - and that means one thing in our household, lots and lots of ...

Anna-dana program (generously giving free wholesome meals to temple devotees) at local Shiva Vishnu temple in Livermore, CA is simply outstanding! We happened to catch in on one of their dinners - food was so simple but yet purely delicious! This temple is an extremely well run organization... kudos to these guys!

Last year, you made a commitment to be a better baker in 2014. Since we know resolutions can be hard, we're reminding you of what you agreed to last year, and we're adding a few more goals for 2015, too.

Holidays are a perfect time for small craft projects to get your creative juices flowing. And really, if you are caught at home with chilling cold and short daylight outside, these craft projects are a really good way to keep everyone occupied in a productive way without bringing the house down!

Holidays are a perfect time to spend with your kids doing crafts and get their creative juices flowing! My quilling set was catching dust for many years, so I took it out last week. And here is a quilling greeting card we made today for the grandparents...

To those new to quilling, it's a very easy to learn paper craft perfect to do with kids. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quilling to get started!

"one of the most reliable indicators and predictors of true leadership is an individual’s ability to find meaning in negative events and to learn from even the most trying circumstances." - of all the outstanding leaders I have come across, this quality certainly resonates as very true in most..  put simply when life gives you lemons, make lemonade - age old wisdom..
Everyone is tested by life, but only a few extract strength and wisdom from their most trying experiences. They’re the ones we call leaders.

I get that it's an ad campaign, but still happy to see this love your curl campaign by Dove :) Having spent years hiding  curls and damaging my hair along the way, it is so liberating now to let them be in their natural element.

For most of us our blogs are about a creative outlet, a space of our own to express what we want to share.... however at times we all think won't it be nice to be able monetize for the huge number of hours goes into our blogs?!

Here is a great resource I go to to see what it takes to make a living out of a food blog: http://pinchofyum.com/category/making-money-from-a-food-blog

My own blog makes me barely enough for a good pocket money to cover my jewelry and crafts for the year (roughly speaking), but if I ever had more time to denote on the blog, making it more profitable would be a good project to undertake.

exciting! are we finally seeing the onset of true intersection of technology and beauty/fashion industry? Curious how this turns out.. there are so few with a good eye for both technology and beauty/arts.... and that's a must for a wearable more so than technology alone (speaking as a woman of-course)

Fitness trackers took center stage at CES this year, but there was still plenty of other cool wearable tech unveiled at the show. Here's the best of what we saw.

Happy new year to everyone! As we say Good-bye to 2014 and welcome 2015 with open arms and with lots of hopes and expectations for a happy, prosperous and fun-filled new year, it's also the perfect time to make resolutions! Review what was good about the past year and identify where things could improve for the new year.

If you were to consider one food resolution, one change in your eating habits, this is the one I recommend...

Someone who loves to be into technology, food & cooking, books, crafts and too many things to count!
Introduction
I am into Technology by profession and have a day job which I love.

I am also a part-time food blogger and I blog at Ginger & Garlic. I love making local, fresh and simple home-made Indian fusion food (Indian food with a bit of multi-national twist here and there). I am also a big supporter of local seasonal eating and community farmer markets. Three years ago we switched sourcing all our produce and fruit from farmer's market and have been happily cooking seasonal since then.

Simple & quick recipes with local and seasonal produce not only help us enjoy nature's bounty without the preservatives and 100s of food miles, but we also help local farmer's ecosystem and sustainable growing along the way. And of-course as any Indian cook would tell you, a touch of spice does the magic!
