"Amazingly good butterfish, pineapple dessert, and something sage martini."
"The $12 miniscule portion of zitti in a buttersauce was not to be believed."

To qualify the 2 star rating more clearly. It is specific to a member of management at the Rancho Mirage location and not to the establishment itself as Roy's overall, is 5 stars. My girlfriend and her mother have a long standing tradition to dine at Roy's on their respective Birthday's. Earlier this month, my girlfriend and her mother celebrated her mother's birthday at Roy's in Rancho Mirage. I wanted to surprise them with a bottle of their favorite champagne. I called just as they arrived and I spoke with the MOD Delfina. Delfina was friendly, professional and accommodating with her service. Delfina under-promised and over-delivered. The level of service she personally provided was exceptional and proportionate to the occasion being celebrated. 5 Star's plus for Delfina. On the evening of 8.26.15, my girlfriend was celebrating her birthday with her mother at Roy’s in Rancho Mirage. I wanted to surprise them with a bottle of their favorite champagne. Because I had such great experience with Delfina, I was excited to speak with her once again. I was disappointed to learn she was not working and I was transferred to MOD, Edward. From the start, Edward put policy before service in his tone and communication with me. He made it inconvenient for me to make a simple request which forced me to jump through unnecessary hoops for me to receive the service I had flawlessly received from Delfina 15 days earlier. After fulfilling the requirements Edward had given, I called Edward back to let him know I had sent him the required email with all the information he requested to purchase one bottle of champagne. Edward assured me that he would oversee and be personally responsible for the service experience of my girlfriend and her mother. I felt content and excited in knowing that once my girlfriend and her mother arrived, they would be surprised in receiving their favorite bottle of champagne; a pleasant and unexpected surprise and start to their evening together. Several hours passed and I received a message from my girlfriend that she was home. I asked how dinner was and she responded but made no mention of the bottle of champagne. I called Roy's that moment and spoke with Edward and asked him if he had followed through with my request. His answer was “no” followed by a standard apology. Edward’s excuse was transferring blame and responsibility to the server. As if throwing the server under the bus wasn't unprofessional enough, he went on to say it was very busy and that he was the only manager working. Edward did offer to make amends through offering a refund which again was as standard offer. What Edward did not do was take a minute to research the method of payment while on the phone with me nor did he ask for my call back number to follow up with me to confirm that the refund was processed. Had Edward taken this extra step, he would have discovered the cash transaction and contacted me immediately. These are basic business and service fundamentals. Upon me calling back, Edward offered to send a voucher once I told him the transaction was cash. Today, I received call from Roy’s. Delia introduced herself and asked me about what happened. Delia listened, acknowledged what happened, empathized and provided excellent service by hearing and understanding me. She also committed to following up with me by phone in the future as a gesture of hospitality. As stated in my opening remark. Roy’s is a 5 Star establishment.

Very nice atmosphere and delicious food! Delfina treated her customers with excellent service. Our waiter, Carlos, was great too. Will come back again next time in town.

Roy's has the BEST seafood my husband and I have ever eaten! Kim was our waitress and she was beyond phenomenal! It's always great when you can tell a person loves what they do and Kim certainly does! Overall was a fantastic experience and I would give this more stars if I could!

Since I'm a fan of Roy's in San Diego, I figured that I have to give this place a visit. Fortunately, I came in the perfect time: Aloha Hour (4:30-7pm)! They offer a selection of cocktails, well drinks,hand-selected wines & sakes for $6, craft beers for $3, a choice of five bar bite selections for $6, and also a choice of misoyaki butterfish lettuce cups & waygu burger for $9. With a 1988 on my hand, i could believe that I'm in Hawaii inside the restaurant. Waygu burger is what will keep me coming back over again.

The epitome of service; everything from appropriate (yet friendly) demeanor to speed of service, to understanding serve-from-the-left-take-from-the-right. Gourmet food in appropriate proportions, completely fresh, flavorful, and perfect texture with one exception: Banana nut bread pudding was too much, too filling.

There is no better place to eat than Roys in Palm Springs. And no better Roys either! This place is awesome! We regularly make the trip from San Diego to Palm Springs simply for this restaurant.

I have been to a Roy's in Honolulu and that one was awesome and I think this one in CA was just as good. My husband had never been to a Roy's and he loved it too. The mai tais are great probably the best I have ever had on the mainland.
