I'm the friendly old gent who believes that Homo Sapiens is evolving into something much better than we currently appear to be. I am very hopeful that our future is bright.

"And Now for Something Completely Different..."
Normally, my 2 seminars on Monday deal with technical info, but tomorrow is, essentially, a performance. I am going to read my favorite excerpts from the Notebooks of Lazarus Long. Lazarus is a fictional character created by Robert Heinlein who is witty, funny, and profound. You will enjoy both his humor and his humanity. This is a fun event. 9am at the Tampa Bay Computer Society, and again at 1pm at the Palm Harbor Library. My seminars are free to all.

World Speech Day at TBCS is free and open to all.

Important: for Pinellas County residents. They don't have enough poll workers for the primary next Tuesday. These are paid positions - not volunteer. You MUST have training which could only be this afternoon, Friday, or Monday. Call 727-464-6110 immediately if you want to join up. They have new machines which make the job much easier than in the past, but they need your help.

I can't emphasize how awesome this little rascal is. $50 to $500 (quite an awesome range). The link below gets you a good price from Amazon. It converts scanned text to 180 languages. Sends to Word, Excel, email, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, or PDF. I don't receive anything in return for promoting, but I've had many that I demoed to purchase.

This awesome (and FREE utility) lets you store web pages, emails, notes, etc. in the cloud so that you can share that info between all of your devices: your desktop, your laptop, your tablet, and your smartphone.  (This app is similar to Microsoft’s OneNote.)

This seminar is the 1st in Doc’s (Dave Dockery) weekly seminar on Wednesday mornings – called Doc’s Place.  These seminars are free (even to non-Tampa Bay Computer Society members), and they always occur at the TBCS offices on 1510 Barry Rd.

Each week, Doc will tackle a broad variety of computer and Internet topics in his return to the classroom including social media, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, tablet PCs, and smartphones.

Tampa Bay podcasters: you can have the best podcast there is, but if you don't market it properly almost no one will know about it. I was at the Tampa Bay Talkie Awards last Friday night with Chris and Katie Krimitsos. Katie's podcast, "Business Women Rock", has only been available for 8 weeks, but she won 3 Talkies -- including Best Podcast. If you hope to monetize your cast, you want to come to this workshop next Tuesday afternoon.
