Fire and IceColor Contrast
A small stream on Mt Rainier caught my attention one day. The contrast of the warm light caught by the "Ice Hoodoo" in the foreground makes for a nice color contrast to the blue/green in the water.Processing Notes:CEP4
White Neutralizer: For the obvious reason of neutralizing the white snow and water for a more accurate color rendition
Brilliance and Warmth for Perceptual Saturation and to enhance the coolness without creating a color shift.
Detail Extractor: To enhance the sharpness and details in the water and the Ice.
Glamor Glow: I use this one a lot as it adds depth in landscape images and softens the water without losing too much detailSEP2
I use SEP2 a lot for enhancing contrast, for this image I only needed Amplify Whites and Amplify Blacks for one layer then I added some structure to the Ice Hoodoo in the foreground on a second layer, then changed both layers to Luminance. Its my favorite contrast enhancement method.Photoshop
A few Brightness and Contrast Adjustments layers to add some brightness. A few masks for SEP2 and CEP4 to spot correct. Sometimes I find it easier to use masks instead of Control Points, more for feathering reasons. Just a preference for me, depends on the image.#nikonphotographers #landscapephotography #mtrainier #nikcollection
