When my girlfriend found the deal on Travelzoo, we went to The Forge as part of a romantic weekend getaway. We had a fantastic time -- the ambiance and history was very unique and fun. The food was excellent and our waiter, Mike Moon was extremely professional, friendly, attentive and made us feel like we were VIPs. I would highly recommend this deal to those wanting to experience an upscale restaurant at a 3-star price. Thank you to Mr. Moon and the entire staff at The Forge.

My boyfriend and I dined with another couple on a Sunday night. The ambiance of the restaurant I must say was suberb, and I really liked the coziness of the chairs and table setup. The look of the menu and descriptions were so tantilizing, we wanted to order EVERYTHING! Our waitress arrived to the table to inform us of the specials for that evening. We ordered a few cocktails to start off with, however I was shocked that with such an extensive wine selection she did not spend any time recommending any specific wine that would pair with our meals. For the table, we ordered the diver sea scallops and peanut butter & jelly lobster sandwhiches. The PP&J was just solely..PP&J. No sign of lobster whatsoever. Don't waste your time wondering about it. The scallops were undercooked, and the flavors of it did not mesh. On to the mushroom risotto. As well, it was undercooked. Such a shame because I loved the mushroom types they selected. The risotto itself was grainy and left an unpleasant aftertaste. We sent it back and the waitress relayed a message from the Chef that "its supposed to taste that way." She recommended another risotto dish but we refused since we didn't agree with the way it was prepared the first time. The "roasted garlic" potatoes had absolutely no flavor. It tasted as it came out of a box. The biggest shocker for us was the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Unbelievably disappointing. Go to Barton G if you must have that dish. At least at Barton, you can taste the different cheeses and they don't torch the top of the dish, leaving it to taste dry and overcooked. We all ordered steaks to our liking and they were nothing to go crazy about. Although the sauces somewhat made up for it. The lobster was guess what....overcooked. The ONLY dish I can rave about is the souffle. That is a must. As you can recognize, we attempted to give this restaurant a chance with all the dishes we ordered. A $600 tab for a party of 4 should not have any mishaps within the dinner. We all agreed that we would never go back although I secretly would go back, JUST for the soufflee.

I loved the ambiance of this place, it is a bit odd but in a good way like an eccentric uncle that always told you the whackiest of stories. The food was pretty good and the steak was alright, the best thing I had on the menu was the chopped salad. I would recommend going to this place at least once to check it out just for the atmosphere and decorations.

Went to the The Forge for a girlfriend's Bachelorette Dinner. AMAZING food, AMAZING decor, AMAZING service! The staff was very courteous. They were nice enough to show us around the WHOLE restaurant and give us a mini history lesson about the different rooms within building. Very impressed and will definitely eat here again when I'm in Miami. ps. Our waiter Mickey was the sweetest. Absolutely loved the experience.

Went there with my wife and dear friends for my 60th birthday. I hadn't been there in 20 years, but remembered their previous excellent food and service and recently read they renovated, etc. Though the "vibe" was good when walking in, it was all down hill thereafter. Aside from the noise (virtually impossible to hear the person next to me), the service was mediocre at best- often we had to pour our decanted wine ourselves, even when the servor was at the table! I ordered the pork combo entree as it sounded really tasty on the menu. The servor said it was excellent. Actually, it was a overcooked pork chop equal to one from WinnDixie- tasteless. As well, their lobster, peanut butter and jelly appertiser was a joke- expensive, tasteless, small yet expensive. The servor never came back to check on us and as the entree's were completed, with mine barely touched, I informed the bus boy of my displeasure and to tell the chef. Nothing happened after that and the servor could care less. Over-priced, mediocre food, poor service. Not what it once was and apprently the Owner really does not care! It shows. Too many excellent restaurants in Miami to waste your time and money at The Forge.
