Awards of reasonable attorneys' fees in copyright cases are not clear cut and are generally within the discretion of the court. Looks like the U.S. Supreme Court will be weighing in on this:

The Authors Guild hopes to have the U.S. Supreme Court hear their case against Google Books, arguing that authors should be compensated for Google's use of their works in the online library.  A ruling on whether or not Google's use of these works constitutes fair use or copyright infringement will have a dramatic effect on the future of copyright as libraries go digital.

Mike Huckabee sued for copyright infringement.  This will be an interesting case to follow, especially as to a ruling on whether this infringement was willful:
