I just discovered this nice feature:

$ darcs unpull --not-in-remote=http://darcsserver/repo

Thanks!  I often have local copies of repositories maintained by co-workers.  If they rebase/amend-record patches I always have to get rid of the old patches.  That's a nice way to do it.

An alternative is
$ darcs rebase pull
$ darcs rebase obliterate

By the way: rebase ist working great for us.  It makes our lives so much easier.  We're all using it on a daily basis.

Our top feature request now would be: Lightweight branches and grouping of patches.  With large projects cloning a repository is nothing you want to do often.  Our build products are large and rebuilding our project is not lightweight.  I want to keep my build products und want to stay in the same directory because all my external tools (editor, XCode, ...) refer to it.
I'd like to "darcs switch" to a different branch which would suspend my current working branch.  I'd like to unsuspend my working branch merging it against the branch I switched to.  I'd like to suspend/unpull the branch I switched to or even pull in another branch.  Branches should be just named patch groups.
When we work in a branched repository we push patches concerning the "branch feature".  The patches represent the development history of the branch.  Most of the time other developers are not interested in that history or individual patches in the branch.  They want to track the branch to be able to use the feature/functionality introduced by the branch but not on a patch-by-patch level.  Currently I need a new directory for every branch to be able to group the patches.  It would be nice if patches could be recorded for a specific patch-group and I could suspend/pull/unpull that group of patches altogether without looking at individual patches. Maybe some food for thought for the next Darcs hackathon... :-)

Which patches were added to the repository in the last 45 days?
A rather crude but simple way. I use it quite often tough I'd prefer Darcs supporting this natively. (Probably only works in GNU/Linux world.)

Just learned from darcs-users: If you set the environment variables DARCS_ALWAYS_COLOR and DARCS_DO_COLOR_LINES you get nice colors - even when output is piped into "less".  :-)

factis research is happy to announce that Dr.+Sebastian Fischer will be working on improving Darcs for us.  Even after spending some time with Git and GitHub we still think Darcs is the best version control system available for our team and development workflow.  Since 2006 we're using Darcs for all of our projects and we are very grateful that the Darcs development team did such a great work!  As probably all other Darcs developers only have their spare time to work on Darcs, we feel now is a good time to give something back.
