In the last update we spoke about management changes which affect HotGW: Limanowa 1914 and as promised, here is what's new within the game itself.
First of all: the price.
As mentioned before, we could lower the price of each box by rearranging the manufacturing process. We stripped the version without the minis and this was one of the reasons we could negotiate a bit lower price, which we forward into the final price.
There are new stuff coming your way.
Many backers (and non-backers) told us their stories about not being able to play a multiplayer game whenever they wanted for various reasons: they liked Limanowa 1914, but just for letting it sit on their shelves, they won't back it. The new version of Heroes of the Great War will contain every scenario the original game had before, coming with multiple solo and cooperative maps as well, all in the base box: this means, if the game is funded, everybody gets them without extra added costs. The exact number of maps depends on the stretch goals we can unlock in the coming month.
Now that I mention stretch goals...
We've a new SG structure, because we felt the previous list wasn't rewarding enough. You'll get more battlecards in the first few tiers and more units to command. Finally to show you our gratitude if the project gets funded in the first 72 hours, everyone will get the dealer button upgrade, which previously was a KS exclusive bonus. We have a long list of stretch goals and to keep an open mind we welcome every suggestion!
To summarize the new features:
- lower price!
- new and polished game modes for both the mini maps and the grand scenario
- reworked stretch goal list
- new maps and new units
- bonus dealer button for everyone if we get funded in the first 3 days
We really hope that we can show a game where most of the players find what they are looking for, yet we can keep the original feeling which grabbed the attention and love of our testers in the months behind us.

Keep the launch date in mind! 3rd of May, 10AM PDT/5PM GMT!

In the past weeks, since we canceled the previous funding campaign, we were busy preparing the next one.
Question arises: what has changed? In short: many things. First, let's talk about some management changes.
We are in the final steps negotiating with a manufacturer, getting lower production costs than before, which of course positively affects the price of the game, too. Getting the game to you a bit cheaper while retaining the same quality is the best thing a game developer can dream of.
Some of you have asked about shipping into other regions apart from US and EU. Canada and Australia were the two spots which had the most expensive shipping, and finding a fulfillment partner in these regions was not easy. Good news is: we now have some options on the horizon, by the time the new campaign launches, we can give you more specific information about this. We also managed to rationalize some costs to US and EU regions, too, meaning the already friendly shipping will be even more friendly next time.

There are some thing which have changed within the game itself, too, more on that later. In a couple of days we'll give you a brief update about new stretch goals, new game content and Kickstarter exclusives.

Keep the date in mind: 3rd of May!

See you soon!

Call to arms!

The much awaited solo and cooperative modes are here!
Finally we finished polishing the special rules and now we are done with the Print and Play demo, which we now give you to download.

Get the original rulebook, too, the basic rules are detailed in there and those apply to every game mode!
We would love to hear your opinion about it. Keep in mind that this is just the first public version and many things are subject to change, if we see fit. We had many ideas about the AI and we wanted to come up with something simple to understand, simple to play, yet still modular so we can give you more scenarios in the future and you can have fun playing Heroes of the Great War: Limanowa 1914 for countless hours!
Download the PnP, give it a try and share your thoughts with us, either here, of on Facebook or on BoardGameGeek!

Since we canceled the funding campaign, all our efforts went mainly into enhancing solo and cooperative modes.
We are now ready for some early beta testing and we need your help with that!

We'll publish the first public version of both new game modes in a couple of days, as soon as we clean everything up. There'll be a downloadable Print&Play edition with special rules and setups. Of course you can still play the original PnP demo we released earlier for 1v1 or 2v2 setups.

Feel free to share it and tell us your opinion, either here or on BoardGameGeek: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/210417/heroes-great-war-limanowa-1914/forums/0

Hope to hear your thoughts soon!

Commanders!

This has been a very busy week for us!

We launched our very first Kickstarter project, watched how the first 100 backers found it in just a few hours and accumulated more than 40% of the basic funding goal within a day. It was a truly amazing experience.

With that said, the current pace of funding and the incredibly useful feedback we received during this past week made us realize that we could do much better with a fresh start. For that reason, we decided to pause the current funding campaign of HotGW: Limanowa 1914.

We got an overwhelming amount of suggestions and ideas about how to improve the game and the campaign around it. The most important reason to do this is the game’s current price and content. While our number one principle is quality first, we realize that the price of the Hussar Colonel box ended up being a bit prohibitive. For our relaunch, we already have a number of ideas to rationalize our costs without compromising quality, so we are confident that we will be able to come up with a much more lurcative offer for next time.

We heard that some of our stretch goals were not too appealing. As we are preparing for the relaunch, we will also have time to properly implement your feedback on these as well. Thanks to you, we now have a much clearer view on which stretch goals are truly important, and we would like to focus on those a bit more. This is especially true for the solo mode – it’s something that will need extensive playtesting to mesh perfectly with the game, but will be a great addition, since iteration is key in the life of a game.

We can’t thank you enough for the huge amount of support and encouragement we got over the course of the week and were surprised to see the appeal of the campaign – our WW1-themed game receiving group pledges from as far as Hong Kong was a dream coming true for us. The funding goal would likely have been reached even with the current campaign, but we are certain that relaunching with a fresh concept and new ideas is the right call that will benefit everyone. We're sure that with the power of the community we can build a game of highest quality with lots of stretch goals.

So fear not - the Battle of Limanowa is far from over!

We will keep in touch with you guys in the coming weeks until we are ready for the relaunch.

If you want to share your thoughts and ideas with us, feel free to drop us a line, either here on Kickstarter, or follow us on Facebook:

See you at the relaunch, we are counting on you in the upcoming offensive!

Until next time!
