Hey Birmingham!!! It's David. I'm a graduate of ITT Tech and a six year Gulf-War U.S. Army veteran. I'm here to update all of Bill Yeargen's customers who used to go to the Shell Stations located on Highland Ave. and at Independence Rd. As of today, Bill Yeargen no longer has those stores, thanks to McPherson Oil and there Shady dealings. As of now, Bill has one store, which he owns, at 250 Greensprings Hwy., Homewood, AL. 35209. I went to this store quite a few times for gas, food, carwashes, and drinks. What's really unique about this store is it has a "SHARKS" restaurant attached to it. I have some pictures of the Shell Station and the "SHARKS" restaurant which I attached to this article. I have eaten at SHARK'S a few times. They have some DELICIOUS food there. The Shell station has a GREAT staff running the store. Annette is the store manager. Lois, Kevin, and John are currently the clerks running the store. ALL OF THEM ARE GREAT PEOPLE!!!! They also have great personalities and also go out of there way to help their customers. BILL IS ALSO A WONDERFUL PERSON!!!! He helped me out more times than you know whenever I needed gas or even money. However, what makes BILL AN EXTRAORDINARY PERSON was that he helped me out with some part time work back in early 2011. I was a homeless veteran, living in my car. I was struggling to find work, after I left SITEL. I had to leave my apartment due to me being so far behind on rent. When Bill took me on in 2011, that's when my life started to change. I was first working one to three days a week, at the Riverchase Shell location in Hoover. It was then I got into Three Hots and a Cot, currently ran by J.D. Simpson. The store manager, at Riverchase, was Donna Lambert. The job, thanks to Bill, provided me a little spending money so I could take care of my needs while living at Three Hots. Well, as time went by, an open slot became available at Riverchase Shell. I jumped at the opportunity which led to full time work. Well, things in my life really turned around then. I had some steady money coming in and I was even getting some computer contract jobs on the side. This all ended in October 2012 when Donna informed us that Walgreens was going to tear the Shell Station down to put up one of it's stores. BILL was a blessing in disguise. If it hadn't been for him, my life wouldn't be getting better. I'm now on the V.A. HUD-VASH program. I have been also getting I.T. contract jobs with certain companies after the station closed for good.----------BILL YEARGEN IS A WONDERFUL PERSON, A DAMN GOOD FRIEND, AND HE HAS A BIG HEART FOR VETERANS, LIKE MYSELF, TRYING TO GET BACK ON THEIR FEET!!!! That's why I'm encouraging all of his customers to come to the Shell Station at the 250 Greensprings Hwy. location. You will get a lot better service at this store than you will at the Highland Shell or the Independence Drive Shell. All veterans are also encouraged to stop at this station if you need gas, food, and to even get your car washed.-----I'd also like to add that J.D. Simpson and "Three Hots and a Cot" were also a blessing in disguise as well. They provided a wonderful place for me to stay. I was provided 3 wonderful meals, a day, and had a place to lay me head at night. Three Hots even had internet available if we wanted search for jobs or just be entertained.--------------BILL YEARGEN AND J.D. SIMPSON ARE THE BEST FRIENDS ANYONE COULD HAVE!!!! These 2 great guys turned my life around big time. I will be posting a link to "Three Hots and a Cot", if you need more information about them. If you don't see it here, there will be another posting.
