As Emmanuel Gallardo, a Mexico City-based journalist who specializes in frontline coverage of the drug war, put's it: "It’s not going to change in 10 or 20 years," he says, “unless there is a revolution."
Killings continue in Mexico's Baja California Sur. Two heads have been found in a cooler just two blocks from the tourist zone of Cabo San Lucas. The state prosecutors also said the total bodies found after several days of excavation of clandestine graves had reached 18. The bodies of five women and 13 men were found in 12 graves near the Cabo Pulmo park off a road that runs between the reserve and the resort of San Jose del Cabo.

Andy McMillin 2017 Baja 500 winner! McMillin raced hard and consistent to secure the overall and +Trophy Trucks class victory, finishing in the No. 31 McMillin Ford F-150 in 10:03:04 hrs averaging 82.2km/h - 51.12 mp/h around the tough 827.20km / 513.76-mile race course.
Andy McMillin quote at the finish line: "The hardest part of this race was the distance and the different types of terrain. Getting over to the beach it was very mountainous and rocky. It was wide-open along the beach, then up over the mountains to Valle Trinidad. The deserts in San Felipe and the whoops are so gnarly. We had one flat tire in San Felipe when we took a line and punctured the right rear. Luckily we had a pit a couple of miles up and we nursed it in."

Take a look at the map below to see the countries that most rely on their tourism industry.
A growing trend of traveling has increased the number of people traveling to foreign countries each year. This growing trend has brought with it increased GDP growth due to tourism spending.
Mexico occupies the 7th spot at top 10 list with the largest tourism industries (GDP). Baja Sur is one of the popular destinations within Mexico.
Hopeful there will be MORE action taken to address still ongoing security issues and eliminate standing travel warnings as such >>>
http://bajaurl.com/US-State-Warning (see Baja California Sur paragraph)
The six countries with the largest tourism GDP are not very reliant on tourism spending - consequently from Nr. 7 on there is a certain dependency!
1. United States ($488 billion)
2. China ($224 billion)
3. Germany ($130.8 billion)
4. Japan ($106.7 billion)
5. United Kingdom ($103.7 billion)
6. France ($89.2 billion)
--
7. Mexico ($79.7 billion)
8. Italy ($76.3 billion)
9. Spain ($68.8 billion)

Category 1 hurricane Newton with winds of 90 mph, pelting +Baja California Sur with torrential rain as residents took shelter at home and tourists huddled in hotels. Image: Malecon in +La Paz Baja California Sur BCS
Newton first came ashore near the Los Cabos resorts Tuesday morning as a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 90 mph, pelting the area with torrential rain as residents took shelter at home and tourists huddled in hotels. The storm broke windows, downed trees and knocked out power, but the area was spared the kind of extensive damage seen two years ago when they were walloped by a stronger storm.
