Longtime Thai eatery in a carved-teakwood space where diners remove their shoes & sit on the floor.- Google

Excellent place. Ambiance, service, food, wine, interior design, couldnt be better. To thumbs up. Will definitely go back.

Great place to bring a large group of friends or family, especially out-of-towners looking for a unique San Francisco-type experience. Almost never too crowded, service is fast and friendly, and the ambiance is really lovely. I've tried a number of items on the menu, and enjoyed all of them. Wear socks if you're weird about being barefoot, because you will have to take off your shoes (I like this part, actually! but I wear socks).

One of my favorite thai restaurants, mostly due to the awesome decor and ambience. Check your shoes at the door and enjoy a relaxing thai dinner.

Food and service were decent, but the seating arrangement was retarded. They have made a sunken seating arrangement, but done a very poor job. The tables have thick legs at the edge which obstruct your legs when you try to get in. Once you're in the tables have thick rims so that there's only a very narrow space left to stick your leg in the space underneath. My mom had a really tough time crawling in and out of the space. Epic fail at table arrangement.

The good news is that Khan Toke is now open for lunch and for $8-$10 you get the same good food in a gorgeous environment with exceptional service that would cost more - naturally - for dinner. There are new owners, but the same homey atmosphere that characterized the place before. Because the lunch service is new, there aren't too many customers, and I am really rooting for success of the enterprise: I would like to be able to relay on lunch here. Give it a try.

We had a reservation at 8 pm and we arrived on time but got our table 15 minutes late. It took the waiter 30 minutes to even get us glasses of water. The food wasn't fantastic and the service was awful. We waited for 1.5 hs to get our food and we were just a party of 8!

Good outer Richmond Thai place. Fun to get a seat where you take your shoes off and hang your feet into a pit like area sitting on the floor. Nice experience and reliable food.
