Having spied this resort on a previous visit while dining at Latitudes, I decided to book there this time, and was not disappointed. From the private beach bar service (wear water shoes, a bit rocky) to the beautiful pool, also with a bar, to the cozy cottage, I really couldn't ask for more. You have complete solitude, if required, or the ability to take the very short ferry trip almost to Duval and all the shopping. The service was impeccable. The resort manager came by once while at the pool and asked about our stay, wanting to be assured that we were happy. Really, my only complaint was that I was leaving far sooner than I wished. Latitudes is their kitchen for in room and resort dining, and there's no way to go wrong there. Conch cakes. I ate them every day. I salivate thinking of them now. Be sure to get your breakfast basket filled with pastries and fruit off of your porch as soon as delivered, or the insanely smart birds there have figured out how to remove the securely fastened lid. I lost a croissant my first morning! Will be back!

It's a really beautiful place with great staff, great food, and lots of privacy. The multi bedroom cottages have separate doors for each bedroom which is nice. You can only access the island via the Westin resort which is confusing and their staff didn't really seem to have it together. The boat ride is a cool feature unless you barely miss it and need to wait 30 minutes for the next one. If you're looking to be segregated from the ruckus of key west while still being able to hop over and enjoy it when you like, this is an awesome place.

Odd that a 5 star hotel would only rate 2 but the 1 hour + check-in by a lone, lost trainee was followed by a concierge the next day that was a waste of time, an in-room safe that wouldn't open on the 2nd (checkout) day and included a scolding by the head maintenance guy on how I should not use the room card to open and close it (even though I tested it several times before using it) but should have instead used the keypad, a person from the "Bistro" taking my luggage cart and promising to have another delivered but did not and instead finding the original cart returned after he collected room service trays a half hour later (cross use of a luggage cart has to be a violation of health codes; if not, then at least a violation of common sense) and finally, my room being as far away from the lobby as one can get with no type of transport for myself, even after requesting such several times. I'm truly disabled with walking problems (the further I walk, the more pain I have to endure but endure I did). I did see other guests being ferried to and fro their rooms on some type of golf cart looking device. ... I'll stay elsewhere in the future for sure. B~/ ... 👎

My Church group stayed here August 4th and 5th. The hotel was awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. The location is great. The food in the Bistro was good. I have stayed her two summers. The sales managers Mrs Herbst was very good and patience in helping me with my group reservations. Bull Swamp Baptist Church

The scenery there is gorgeous. I really regret not stay there overnight. The price is high, but it for sure worth it. Nowhere at key west can compare to that on sunset key west island. I really recommend book a rokm and have dinner there.

Nice rooms, great for families. I wish it was a little closer to the old town area. Concierge service is great, with a free shuttle to and from anywhere in key west.

This property listed here is actually The Westin Key West Resort & Marina. The cottages are off on the Sunset Key island. This marker needs to be updated. Regardless, this is a nice property close to the marina and all the actively in Key West. Nice rooms and pool area.

My Sister & Brothers brought our Father here last year for his 94th Birthday. As a family with several handicap persons, our trip last November was an interesting one. Although The Sunset Key Cottages aren't set up for wheelchair access, the staff went over & beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Maintenance came & set up ramps & ext. cords for scooters. Room Service stocked our frig with the grocery list we provided. As well as leave our morning basket inside for us. The restaurant is 5 stars across the board on their culinary genius & accommodations inside & out of the Dining & Bar area. The lobby always had wonderful refreshing water & great prices on gifts. Didn't do the spa. They don't do pedicures????? Priced higher than others in Key West. Housekeeping brought shower chair & small frig for bedroom downstairs. Every staff member did what they could to help make it an easy stay. Their level of service took this resort to a 6 star for us. We travel all over the country and have many stories about the accommodations. None as great as this one. Even the Ferry staff were wonderful. It was a learning experience for the entire staff and they rose to the occasion and surpassed our expectations. I hope they are ready for us again. We now have reservations for 2-2bedrom one level cottages for a 10 day stay in November to celebrate our Fathers 95th Birthday. The Family is stoked!
