No right to watch porn in university libraries.  Actually, thanks to SCOTUS, there's no First Amendment right to Internet porn in ANY public library.
An appeals court has ruled that watching pornography at a university library is not conduct protected by the First Amendment.

In what may be a national first, a public library has approved the use of unfiltered computers in the children's section of the library. The library policy is to allow unfiltered computers in the library section designed and designated for children. I prese...

Librarian Versus Librarian; Sexual Harassment Wins

I report on public libraries that get caught breaking the law, such as by allowing child pornography viewing. Some react by blocking my Twitter/Facebook accounts. Almost a hundred librarians block me as well since the message gets out by one or two prominent ones that librarians must close their ears to my reporting things like homophobia and child pornography in public libraries. Indeed I'm being sued to silence my exposing existing law allows all libraries to filter out porn, ostensibly for reporting on a library calling a child porn whistleblower "gay" and a "fruit."  Also,@ECWDogs reports on public officials using social media inappropriately.
In honor of Banned Books Week 2015 I will be hosting my own week long Banned Twitter Feeds Week!  I want to highlight the variety of ways public officials engage in the unlawful use of Twitter and other social media platforms...

Librarians Hate Rush Limbaugh, Love Censorship of Rush Revere Books for Children; The Banned Books Week Hoax Continues
Librarians really hate Rush Limbaugh and really love censorship.  Below I present evidence of generalized hate throughout the librarian community, then I present visual evidence of a library hiding children's books by Mr. Limbaugh and the comments of the vi...

School Book Selection, Challenges, and Censorship
Letter: Regarding Reading Book Selection in Schools October 16, 2015  Regarding the issue of book “censorship” in the public school, key points should be considered that may not be heard from other sources. When a book is challenged, reference should be mad...

A banned book is a serious matter. There have been books banned in US history. For example, a number of cities banned Elmer Gantry. Further, the federal government at times banned materials in the District of Columbia under the Federal Anti-Obscenity Act, which was better known for banning the use of the US Postal Service to send obscene materials. Those bannings, while rare, did happen. | Read More »

Media Sees Banned Books Week Hoax; True Censorship Ignored
Media is starting to see Banned Books Week for the bullying campaign and hoax it is.  They know keeping inappropriate material from children is not censorship; parents are allowed to challenge public schools without being labelled "censors."  They see the c...

I'm in this story about American Library Association efforts to promote child p0rn in public libraries and how ALA's "crisis management" plan was an absolute disaster for the Orland Park Public Library that followed that advice.

SafeLibraries - Are Children Safe in Public Libraries?
Introduction
Educating people and politicians about who controls public libraries. Citizens should, not the American Library Association. If your local library is applying ALA policy instead of local law/policy, learn what can be done to reverse that.
Bragging rights
The Children's Internet Protection Act author called me a "trusted source" on how the American Library Association misleads communities about public library law.
Education
  • Morris County Firefighters and Police Training Academy
Presenting Internet Safety Programs to Teenagers, 2007 - 2007
In June 2007, Dan earned a Certificate of Completion in "Presenting Internet Safety Programs to Teenagers" by the Morris County Fire Fighters and Police Training Academy. As a result, Dan's guidance for parents can be found at LMIRL. Curious what LMIRL means? If you don't know, your children may be in danger. The work was then cited in Nintendo US Patents 8353773 and 8500558 for gaming systems, regarding dangers children face in cyberspace.
  • American Library Association
    Lawyer For Libraries, 2007 - 2007
In May 2007, Dan earned CLE credit in "Lawyers for Libraries" by the ALA. That's what I could have said had the ALA's "Office for Intellectual Freedom" not repeatedly raised new hurdles to keep me out of that very class despite Pennsylvania Supreme Court Rules.
