Great post! I love it. When you think about it, it's just that simple. It's amazing how things of such importance become so damn complicated! What's a little troublesome though, is that it's this very paradox which allows the INTOLERANT to almost always have the upper-hand on the TOLERANT! The nature of the tolerant allows the intolerant to run roughshod over them. OK... maybe ROUGHSHOD is not the right word. Intolerant people tend to be over-bearing in their views and tolerant people are more laid-back and accepting. When you think about it, in my opinion ('cuz I always have one), tolerant people have lives that are less chaotic. I know that the more intolerant that I am, the more "up for grabs" my life tends to be. If I want a less chaotic life, I need to be more tolerant towards whatever it is in my life which is causing me problems. Hence, being tolerant towards intolerant people usually allows them free rein in espousing their views. A lot of tolerant people just don't want the chaos in their lives which intolerance tends to cause.
