I can't believe this. I just opened my G+ account after a three week hiatus and found that all of the people in my circles have been deleted. I guess that's one way to thin out a stream. Time to start over I guess.

Take some time for yourself
How long does it take you to get burned out from work and the other trials that life might bring your way? My wife and I realized that over two years of not taking any time off had really started to take a toll on who we were. We were becoming what work wanted or going out of our way to satisfy friends, but never really doing anything for ourselves. Realizing that we needed some time off, last year at about this time we were finalizing plans to go on a Caribbean cruise.

It was a first for both of us, and if you haven't had the opportunity to go on a cruise, I highly recommend it. A week or more of unlimited food, sun and fun with someone waiting on you hand and foot. What's not to like!?

We were like kids again...splashing in the water, snorkeling, swimming with stingrays, running up and down the halls of the ship, and simply spending time with one another. It was a wonderful vacation and gave us a chance to find "us" again.

Where are you planning your next vacation?

Backlit Box Giveaway on Google+!

+Faxon Moulder of http://www.backlitbox.com/ is kind enough to give away an 8x12 Backlit Box to one lucky person here on G+ ... just cause he's feeling generous. :) You'll get to pick one of your favorite photos and have it printed, just like I did with my image below.

The rules are simple:

1. Follow both me and +Faxon Moulder.

2. Re-share this (original) post.

3. Comment on this post (the ORIGINAL one ... not a re-share!) You can say anything ... like how much you love photography or how awesome your pet hamster is. :)

Here's the link back to the original post to make sure you're in the right spot: https://plus.google.com/113097851206100618060/posts/Wt88myqaN8K

Giveaway drawing will be held randomly on Friday, October 7, 2011 ... that gives you one full week to get your name in!

Get out there and Take Some Photo's

As inspired by +Brian Matiash on his thoughts of staying sharp; and how writing about taking photo's is a lot different than going out and doing the legwork.

What Next?
Thats it! If you have completed all four of those steps, you are officially entered into the giveaway. I will pull names from the comments on the original post and put them into a spreadsheet, assigning them random numbers. I will then go to www.random.org and draw out a number on Sept. 21st, Sept 25th, Sept 28th and Oct. 2nd...announcing the winners on each of those days. The prizes being drawn for will also be completely random each prize night. If your name is chosen, I will contact you directly and then verify that you have completed the 4 required steps. If you have not, I will pick another person at random. You will have 24 hours to reply to me after my first initial contact.

After the contest is finished, I will create a public Google+ "Inspirational Photographers" list on http://www.group.as/ so that everyone can check out and add those inspiring photographers that were mentioned by the participants of this giveaway to their own circles.
