Edward and Laura,

I'm sharing these photos of Elaine at Marineland because it occurred to us that this is a really nice, special thing to do with the kids. Marineland is 13 miles south of St Augustine, so its definitely not more than a day trip away from Brunswick.

Elaine had a simply wonderful time, though she was apprehensive at first. (She's the last person in the world I expected to really get into the this.) BTW, the other woman is Shannon Miller, a former Olympic Gold Medal gymnast who now lives here but has ovarian CA as well.

Introduction

Brian Klepper is a health care analyst, industry advisor and commentator. His is CEO of the National Business Coalition on Health, representing 55 regional business health coalitions, about 4,000 businesses, unions and local governments and some 35 million people. He also is Principal/Chief Development Officer for WeCare TLC, LLC, an onsite primary care clinic and medical management firm based in Lake Mary (Orlando), FL.

An active author and speaker, Dr. Klepper has provided health care commentary to CBS Evening News, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. He has published articles on Medscape and Healthleaders, and in The New England Journal of Medicine, Modern Healthcare, Business Insurance and newspapers nationally.

He founded and edits Care & Cost, an online professional health care magazine and discussion forum. In February 2011, with Paul Fischer MD and David C. Kibbe MD, he founded Replace the RUC!, an effort focused on the single most important driver of inappropriate health care cost. He is a regular columnist on the Health Affairs Blog, the Health Care Blog, the Doctor Weighs In, KevinMD, Health Policy and Marketplace Reviewand a variety of other expert health care blogs.

Brian was a panelist and committee chair on the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Primary Care Services Valuation Task Force. He is an Aspen Institute Health Forum Fellow, and serves on the Boards of the Lundberg Institute and the Consortium for Southeast Hypertension Control (COSEHC), dedicated to translational medicine for vascular disease.  He is an Advisory Board member for the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, which advocates for medical homes, and the Center for Value Health Innovation, which helps business identify and implement approaches that have been proven to improve quality and safety while reducing cost.
