Last night we had the Asian Turkey Burgers from the Metabolic Cooking program for the second time. They've been unbelievable! Breakfast is an important meal to have while on a diet. It is important to have a good breakfast planned out beforehand.  Otherwise, in your hurry you may tempted to grab something really bad for your diet such as a doughnut or fast food.  So have a healthy breakfast such as fruit or oatmeal before you leave home.  It is also important not skip breakfast.  Your body has already gone a long time without food and not eating breakfast can lead to weight gain.

Contrary to popular belief, it is necessary you need to eat fat when trying to lose weight.  In order to burn fay you must eat fat.  Now it’s not the fat that you find in convenience foods that you should be eating, but rather fatty acids such as Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9.  These fats are contained in legumes and fish.  They help the health of your cardiovascular system and they can help you lose weight.

When trying to lose weight, broccoli is your friend.  It is very healthy to eat as it contains a high level of antioxidants.  It is filling.  It contains very few calories.  In fact many diet programs count it as a free food because it takes about as many calories to digest it as are contained in it.  So you can basically eat all you want.  Learn to want more of it.  Add it to your salads.  Add to main dishes. Steam it.  Eat it raw.

When trying to lose weight, try to find ways to get to places other than by automobile.  Think about the place you could reach by walking, bicycling, running or roller-skating.  Even taking public transportation helps because you walk to and from stations or stops.  Instead of burning gasoline, you will be burning calories and those calories would be stored as fat in your body if you do not burn them.  But you eliminate that problem if you burn them!

When you are at the gym check your bench before you start to lift.  Press a finger into it and see if you can feel any wood. If you do, you should find another bench to work on. Hard benches have been known to cause misalignment of your spine and to cause some damage to the nerves in the arms.  If you have a home gym, be sure to purchase a high quality bench.
