Wow - I just discovered a simple fix for something that was driving me CRAZY with Office 2013.  Since upgrading, by default, when I clicked on an icon that has more options (arrow pointing down to the right, like the Bullets toolbar icon) I would always get a second menu of options.  Usually I just want the default bullet dagnabit!  Well, under options for the Office apps, under general, one of the first options is "Show Mini Toolbar on Selection" - uncheck that and voila, back to normal and less aggravation.

The Association Jam is a pretty cool concept - I'd glad to be part of it!

Interesting Infographic from Guidestar reminds us that the geographic distribution of Associations is a bit different from the nonprofit market as a whole. None of DC, Virginia nor Marlyand are in the top 5 by count.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm a complete geek for looking at the urls for links on Web pages (the actual link address when you mouse over them). I do it mainly to make sure that the link goes where I think it should go (not phishing) but they can sometimes be telling. For example, LinkedIn teases you with how many people have looked at your profile, but only shows you a couple of the names, encouraging you to upgrade to see the others. The URL for the others?  What do you think it means when it uses the phrase Red Herring? Hmm ... with a term like that, it makes you wonder if they are manufacturing some of the information.
