I painted this little pine dresser that I bought when I was 19. I'm using it as a night table for now because it is a better size. This is the third large piece that I painted with one can of General Finishes Lamp Black. The new lamps make me smile too.  I'm slowly working on a master bedroom makeover.

From Sweater to Pillow
Like many of you, I love pillows. Some I buy but most I sew myself. Sweater pillows are popular for winter decorating and I knew I wanted some.  When I was helping my sister clean out her closet a while back I saved two snowy white sweaters she was going to...
When I was helping my sister clean out her closet a while back I saved two snowy white sweaters she was going to donate. Last night I took a break after some last minute shopping, wrapping, and generally getting ready to host our family for Christmas. About half an hour later I had turned this ...

Very interesting. We have a custom leather couch in our living room and I still love it several years later.  Our family room has a white Ikea slipcover hiding our heavily patterned sofa (it fit quite well.) While I do love the white, we have teens and a dog so keeping it clean can be challenging. I'm currently selling things and saving for a new couch for our family room and if I can find affordable genuine leather, that's my first choice, otherwise I will pick a beige or gray.

Our Winter Living Room
Our winter living room feels so fresh and cozy now that the holiday decor has been packed away. White and wood is the foundation of my lakehouse/farmhouse decorating style. I am learning that I am happiest with a room when I start with white and wood and t...

Hi from Halton in Ontario, Canada. I found my way to your pretty sunroom via Linda at Coastal Charm's Show and Share party. What a great space you have and so nicely decorated for Christmas. I especially like the quilted runner your daughter made and those gorgeous vintage windows. I spy an olive bucket with birch logs (I finally bought one from Meg at Oliver and Rust's sale, and have decorated it similarly this year.) Thanks for sharing your tour.
This year, I was excited to deck the halls for Christmas in the sunroom  - my favorite room of the house. Having just settled on the new area rug a few weeks ago, I was ready to bring out the decorations and mix up some of th...

+Elizabeth BlueClearSky thank you for stopping by and leaving your comment - it's so nice to meet new blogging friends. I follow Meg also. I will stop by and visit you. Isn't that olive bucket so simple and pretty all at once? Those logs are near and dear to me - a fallen tree in my garden - still loved as they are. Happy Holidays!

That chair looks like a cozy spot to spend some time. The changes for the seasons are very pretty. I especially like the bucket of birch sticks and the cozy neutral throw. Wishing you a great weekend. I'm stopping by from Common Ground: Be Inspired.
As much as I love Christmas decor, I do love the clean slate of putting it all away after the holidays.  This year, I had everything completely stowed by New Year's Eve and I'm planning to enjoy some time catching up on readi...
