DBBalance develops and provides its clients with most advanced technology of database structures and data comparison, migration and synchronization. All the new product features made necessary by market demands and reflects comments and requests coming us from hundreds of DBBalance customers - software developers, DBAs and IT managers all over the world.

Cross-Database Solution Suite 9.0 includes:

Online editing table data: updating data values, adding and deleting data records
Fast switching between database tables regardless of current view context
Ability to create Stored Queries on basis of stand-alone SQL files.
Ability of executing a selected part of a SQL script
Significant improvement of SQL statements automatically generated during migration and synchronization
Automatic analysis and adjustment of used settings of comparison keys before starting a data comparison procedure.
Global filters - new type of filters that can be applied to several/all tables/views of a database
Filter Manager - new subsystem allowing to create new global or object-specific filters, browse active and inactive filters, edit existing filters, delete existing filter, apply existing filters to one or more tables.
Job Designer - new stand-alone utility allowing to create and configure job script of any complexity - for further execution from command line with one of main Cross-Database products.
New improved format of all generated report types
Ability to get the reports displaying summary information only
Automatic prevention of overwriting previously generated and registered reports
Improvement of generating, registering and displaying process events
All the DBBalance customers, that purchased products of version 8.0 AFTER June 08, 2013 are entitled to get UPGRADE to new 9.0 version free of charge.
For other users of version 8.0 we offer global price discounts when purchasing the version UPGRADE.

Merging different replicative databases.

The Case

Your company is developing a software product working with a database. You have a number of people involved in the product development. A replication of the database was given to each one of them and they bring changes into their database replications in the process of the development. Upon the completion of the development processes you have to merge all the differences in the Master database.

You cannot count on the fact that each of the developers will write down and save the SQL scripts of the managed changes in an accurate and clear way. Moreover, these changes might sometimes conflict with each other.

You may forbid the developers to bring any changes into their database replications, and commit the task to the DBA. But this might significantly increase the development time

Main goals to be achieved:

• Alignment of the development processes, and as a consequence - development time reduction;
• Accuracy and unambiguity of the fixation of changes in database replications;
• Efficiency and simplicity of the procedures of merging changes in databases.

Our solution:

Use Cross-Database Studio in order to compare and synchronize Master database and replicative database:

1. Master database is compared with the replicative database in order to get a detailed report about the found differences in table structures, primary keys, indexes, foreign keys, store procedures, data (the list of the objects of comparison is defined by perforce).
2. The received reports are analyzed and synchronization (merging) is accomplished on their basis.
3. Operations described in p.p.1; p.p.2 are carried out serially with all replicative databases. As a consequence, upon the completion of this serial merging, Master database will contain all the changes made to the replicative databases.
4. Reverse synchronization is accomplished serially from Master database to each of the replicative databases if necessary. As a result all the databases (Master & replications) completely correspond with each other.

Advantage of our solution

• The changes made in the replicative R&D environment database are not fixated manually, which enables a significant cut of the development time and elimination of human error;
• Merging of the changes is carried out at regular intervals.
• The automatic process of searching differences and synchronization ensures the conformance of the databases.

          Duplication and comparison of logical units of information

The Case:

    Your databases are sophisticated and contain multi-level data storage. Information about any object is contained in different tables and is bound by an identifier. (For example "Personal Information" is contained in tables "Personal Details", "Sales", "Contracts", "Accounts" etc. and is bound by the identifier "Personal_ID"). You need to compare logical units of such information stored in different databases. These databases may not only be on different servers, but they may also be implemented by different vendors (for example ORACLE and SQL SERVER). In addition, tables containing this information may be structured in a different way.
The organization and realization of such a comparison is a complex and time-consuming process. It is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and prone to human error.
Main goals to be achieved:

- Comparison of the logical data, contained in different tables and combined logically;
- Comparison of the data, contained in tables with different structure;
- Reducing the time needed for comparison of logical units of information.

Our solution:

Use Cross-Database Comparator Pro or Cross-Database Studio to compare logical units of information:
1. Create Virtual Tables, containing information about objects that is virtually stored in different tables of different databases;
2. Compare the contents of Virtual Tables in order to get detailed reports about the found differences;
3. The received reports are analyzed in order to make a decision about further steps. If the uncovered difference between the databases is dramatic - act to change the software product, or take any other action, in accordance with your profile;
You can assign the comparison at night, or at any other convenient time, by using the scheduling capabilities of the CDBS products.
Advantage of our solution
 - Speeds up the comparison of the logical units of information;
 - Improves the quality of data comparison;
 - Automated comparison procedure means no time-overhead for developers and reduction of the probability of human error.
