Facebook feeds, Twitter posts, Reddit, a 95% overall Rotten Tomato’s score and just about every entertainment news outlet declares Netflix original series, “Stranger Things”, a massive hit for Netflix. And what’s not to like? The entire series is like a bubbling cauldron of nostalgic stew. Starting with your base ingredient of the Steve’s, Spielberg and King, add a dollop of Carpenter, mix in some Reiner for good measure and you got yourself monster show. Like, literally. There’s a giant monster in it.

When the first season of "Mr. Robot" (USA network) aired, I, along with a general minority of people, watched. But unlike the majority of those minority, I wasn’t rushing to friends, family and social media outlets, proclaiming Mr. Robot as must see TV. Uh-uh. Like a preggo teen on the verge of a big decision, this girl just needed some time to think!

If you’re looking for a super charged alpha male driven drama where fists fly and lips lie, this is your show. Steeped in the world of MMA, “Kingdom”, is an intense look into the lives of a wildly dysfunctional family whose roots are deeply entrenched into a sport that, at times, breaks them apart but is also a blood bond that will always pull them back together again.

For me, the cold opening of a lone figure on top (Tommy) of a magnificent black horse, casually riding along the black and grey streets of Birmingham as residents and merchants flee into their respective homes, said everything I needed to know about Thomas Shelby without saying a single word.

Netflix’s, Jessica Jones starring Krysten Ritter, is not the super hero or the show I expected.  Granted, I knew nothing about the much hyped character going in, but I was very open-minded and ready to be wooed.

Set in the mythical land of…Northern California, Shannara Chronicles follows the journey of Princess Amberle Elessedil (Poppy Drayton), Wil Ohmsford (Austin Butler) and Eretria (Ivana Baquero) on a mission to save their world from a powerful ancient elvish druid demon known as, The Dagda Mor (Jed Brophy) and his demon army, formerly banished to the underworld by the power of the Ellcrys (a magical tree).  Whaaaaat?

Think about when you were a kid or teenager and you met and became best friends with the most awesome person you have then or possibly will ever meet in your life. Playing House, is a show about those best friends, all grown up and still having the best time EVER.

Imagine being connected to someone who can hear your every thought, feel everything you’re feeling as if it were happening to them. No barriers, including language, just naked honesty and sensation. How many of us would be up for such an invasion? Or, such an adventure?

Not that anyone could EVER fill the giant shoes of Ben Affleck as the Daredevil, somehow, Charlie Cox is juuuust right.

Following the rest of Hollywood’s trend in churning out superhero films and TV shoes, Netflix has officially joined the fray, leading with a strong contender in, Daredevil. I’ve invested thirteen hours of my life, so you won’t have to and I’m happy to report, those were thirteen hours well spent.

Penny Dreadful – Noun. A cheap, sensational novel of adventure, crime, or violence; dime novel.

YUP, and then some! Nothing is more limitless than imagination and whatever 19th century readers imagined while reading their dime novel, Penny Dreadful’s, Showtime has far exceeded it. Set in Victorian era, London, this original series is the place where ALL the monsters come out and play. The Wolf Man, Vampires, evil spirits, Frankenstein, Van Helsing and yes, even consumption are just some of the players within this richly imagined drama.
