Dr Siva Vasudavan grew up in Perth and is a graduate of the University of Western Australia (UWA), completing the five-year Bachelor of Dental Science degree at UWA’s School of Dentistry. With a demonstrated commitment to the specialist dental needs of medically compromised children and adolescents, Dr Siva undertook the Registrar (Clinical Service) position at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, Western Australia, for a period of two years. He has also worked at the Perth Dental Hospital and Perth Dental Services, which provided him the opportunity to treat Australians living in remote and rural communities of the Western Australian outback.

Qualifying as a Specialist Orthodontist by undertaking the three-year specialist training program in Orthodontics at the University of Sydney, Dr Siva graduated with a Master of Dental Science (Orthodontics) degree. He was the recipient of the Australian Society of Orthodontists’ (NSW) prize awarded for the best clinically treated case by a Postgraduate Orthodontist and also awarded the Australian Society of Orthodontists Travelling Fellowship Award.

Dr Siva was selected as the inaugural Fellow in the Harvard University Craniofacial and Cleft Lip/Palate Orthodontics program at Children’s Hospital Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He completed the clinical Fellowship program over two years and concurrently graduated with a Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Siva continues to contribute to academic endeavours in orthodontic education and research as an Adjunct Faculty Member of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Children’s Hospital Boston Department of Dentistry. Locally, he holds an adjunct appointment as a Senior Research Fellow at the UWA School of Primary, Aboriginal and Rural Health Care.

To stay abreast of the latest advancements in the orthodontic industry, Dr. Siva holds memberships in many professional organisations, including the Australian Society of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, American Craniofacial and Cleft Lip/Palate Association, Australian Dental Association, Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics and the Tweed Edgewise Orthodontic Society.

Dr. Siva is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Australian Society of Orthodontists (WA Branch) and the Federal Chairman of the Australian Society of Orthodontists Recent Graduates Committee. He is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists, a certified member of the Australasian Orthodontic Board and has completed examinations leading to specialist membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Dr. Siva is an enthusiastic, although not so gifted, sportsman. He enjoys playing and coaching basketball, snowboarding, running half marathons, and has recently taken up open-water swimming. He is a passionate supporter of the West Coast Eagles and continues to support both the Red Sox and the Boston Celtics in the USA.

We would be delighted to welcome you to our orthodontic practice.

Whilst many of our patients are referred to us by their family dentist, it is not necessary for you to have a referral to receive specialist Orthodontic treatment. So whether you are looking for a consultation for yourself or a family member, or even a second opinion, our friendly team will be happy to arrange an appointment for you.
