This has long been one of my fav Atlanta restaurants--and still is. I'm worried about some of the gradual changes ive been seeing lately, though... what used to be an "Ahhh" inspiring unique and very eclectic decor has been changed out for something more mainstream. What used to be a very friendly, attentive, and casually professional staff has started to morph into a very friendly, but inattentive staff that seems to be a bit far too "green" when it comes to knowing their customers... often times I will get a server that seems to try so hard to be fancy and professional (as if this were a Buckhead Life restaurant) that it becomes awkward. Last two times I was there for dinner, the hostess had no idea of any of the requests made in the reservation. Remembering the previous visit, this last time I asked her if any of my comments made it thru on Open Table. When she checked, it was clear from her reaction (and the extra wait time) that she had not taken the time on that very slow night to 've aware of these details. I hope the management considers my comments as I really would love for SIMB to continue to thrive... I've spoken to then before on more than one occasion and I'm afraid that what used to be a very unique experience with fantastic food is becoming another random cookie-cutter Atlanta restaurant with great food and pretentious wait staff.

positives first: the food was great (really great. we went for dinner); the staff, obviously engaged and attentive as they can be, considering how extremely crowded and overwhelmed they are... and, in spite of the really good food, it just wasn't worth it. nowhere to park. nowhere. horrible seating (wooden folding deck chairs and tables with cushions crowded next to each other. fine and kitschy, if you are short and tiny. if you are tall, nowhere to put your legs. and we were constantly watching our arms so as not to knock over a passing server with tray or knock over the table next to us). tables right up on other tables (we repeatedly had to draw in our arms to avoid traffic to/from tables and had the behinds of other patrons against our table/in our faces). slower than slower than slower than slow service (we theorize the kitchen, not the servers were at fault ( our waiter and those attending others around us were on edge about it. we were comp'ed one drink, with their apologies). 2 hours for dinner. and we weren't being slow and lingering. they were. maybe if we had devoted the time, but for a week night, not special occasion: it was slow. more than 20 minutes after salad before entree? no. and after we got our first beer, we couldn't get a second of same because they sold out. the only food negative was pound cake bread pudding. it sounds good, but do not go there. a horribly dry heavy mess. overall, it just wasn't worth it. we ended up more wound up than relaxed and couldn't even have after dinner drinks to unwind. no pouring license. so we had that somewhere else. a lot of potential unrealized here.

Always a pleasure coming to my favorite brunch spot! In a cosy corner in Decatur (Where it's greater) So far I've only had their Sunday Brunches. but they have all been amazing. From the French toast to the eggs benedict, all is as yummy as it looks! (And i'm big on presentation) Last time I was there they had a live band! It was a great mood setter and I felt like I belong in a Charlie Brown episode. I have been here more than 3 times and will continue to go back!

I've been to Sun in My Belly several times for lunch and it's just been okay. Nothing that really had the wow me factor to send me running back. On Saturday, however, a group of us went for Brunch and I must say, I completely understand the hype! I now understand why The Allison's Famous Pimento Cheese Omelette is well, famous. And the challah bread french toast served with honeyed ricotta and sliced bananas should definitely be in lights. Add to that a wonderful cuppa and a chilled bucket of champagne with orange juice for mimosas, now I completely understand the wait. But oh so worth it.

Great local neighborhood spot. Only wish I had discovered it sooner. Had a wonderful time at brunch! I ordered the Kirkwood and it was pretty good. Would also highly recommend the mimosas as well! Look forward to returning here again soon!

On 08/10/2014: Peach Perks Team Meet & Greet - Vibrant w. Moderate Energy We held our fall internship team Meet & Greet at Sun in My Belly. Promptly greeted by our server he began to highlight menu options along with his favorites. We decided on the Miso Glazed Grilled Salmon + Coco Braised Short Ribs + the Mussels... paired with wine and all delicious ! Would absolutely try this spot again!

Thoroughly enjoyed Sun in My Belly! This not-so-well-known brunch spot has an unassuming delectable menu. Be forewarned this restaurant not only has classic brunch items but delightful lunch items that are served during brunch. I tried the vegetarian omelet special, kale salad, Brussels sprout salad, and a coconut curry noodle soup. Highly recommend this place for brunch and lunch lovers!

Underwhelming, must be the summation of my review. I had the breakfast panini with slow cured bacon, a honey glaze, and potato wedges as my side. The sandwich was decent but too sweet for me to appreciate the savory flavors of the bacon and the wholesomeness of such a fatty cheese. The potato wedges were unevenly cooked with some remaining closer to nature than I prefer in prepared dishes. The seasoning on the wedges seemed only to consist of salt and in a quantity unneeded for such a dish. The service was cordial yet unremarkable. I would suggest stopping by but not going out of one's way to visit.
