I am THOROUGHLY impressed with the way that Ken interacts with the kids in Dyer. Ken is very dedicated to these kids, and I feel that he genuinely wants to see each and every child succeed. I appreciate that Ken knows the name of each and every child, and does not treat these classes like an assembly line. He takes the time to make sure EVERY child understands whatever they are working on, and does not move on until all the kids are uniform. Thank you Ken. Also, I cannot go on without mentioning Emma. Emma is a great helper, and she is great with the kids. There is no doubt in my mind that the things that my son is learning from these TWO individuals will prove to be INVALUABLE in his life. To say i appreciate you would be a HUGE understatement. THANK YOU KEN AND EMMA!!!

My two sons started at Draco Academy this summer and love it! My youngest was hesitant at first, thinking that he would not be able to learn all of the techniques as quickly as his older brother. He has done extremely well however, due to the patience and encouragement from the instructors. They work with him, honing in on the details until he can do the kicks and moves perfectly. His confidence level has soared! I love the excitement and pride I see in his eyes after each class. My older son Brandon is loving the classes as well. He took a martial arts class years ago, but only attended a few times before giving up. At Draco Academy, he feels as though the instructors believe you can do well, so he believes in himself too. He recently said that he is happy we found Draco. My son is a quiet, soft spoken child and I like how the instructors are getting him to speak up and project more confidence. I am looking forward to seeing my sons progress to black belts at Draco!

My family absolutely loves Draco Academy. My son is now 7 and joined when he was about 3. He has made his way up to Red/White belt due to the self discipline the wonderful instructors at Draco have taught him to have. It's obviously not all about the color of your belt, but what you learn about yourself from the inside out. My son has become confident in himself. (He's very small for his age.) He's learned how to show respect not only to his instructors, but his fellow students. He's had the opportunity to take part in a few tournaments (these are all optional, and the kids have such fun doing them!) and bring home some much worked for trophies. Draco is a great space because you really can make it into whatever works for your family. As I said above, my son has participated in tournaments, but there is NEVER any push to do so. They sometimes have clinics- learning how to use a bow staff, or nunchucks, or even a visiting multiple level black belt Master. None of these things are ever required and there really is never any pressure to join. For younger kids, they also have some fun time the last few minutes of class, where they might play a sparring game- all just a lot of fun. They also have "bring your friend" week every few months, and an annual picnic. I honestly couldn't be any happier with Draco and everything they've given to my family, my husband also takes classes here, but I will let him leave his own review. If you are ever on the fence, just stop in and try a class or two to try it out, you won't be disappointed!

“Oh my God!” I said when I saw her face. “What happened?” That was my reaction the first time these little girls jumped on my beautiful and intelligent 6 yr. old daughter. We’d just moved to a new place in the city. That summer, she had to come in the house every day because someone was picking on her. She wasn't even losing fights. She was simply getting beat up. I knew I had to do something. Since I’d taken taekwondo as a child, my wife and I searched for the right class for our daughter. Draco popped up in the google search. After meeting with Master Rich, Ms. Elizabeth, Mr. Phil and Mr. Ken, we knew we’d found the right dojo for our baby. The classes are timed well to match her school schedule and the lessons are packed with instructions. She started immediately and was embraced by not only the instructors, but by the class also! The board breaking, the nunchucks/bo staff training and the knife defense are great confidence building tools used by the school. With each class, it was palpable how her self esteem soared. Her grades shot up in school, and the discipline problems she had been having... gone! Today, she’s a green belt and we still have to make her come in the house. But now, it’s not her face that’s all messed up. Just last night, 7 girls piled up at our door to tell me that they had a disagreement with my daughter. But I bet none of them laid a finger on her! Thank you Draco Academy!!! You’ve given my child something worth more than gold. You’ve given her the knowledge and ability to fight in a world where you sometimes have no other choice.

Our 8 year old son started at Draco this past spring. We were having a hard time with his focusing and following directions at school and home. He needed something that helped him believe in himself and feel accomplished. Within a month his teacher noticed that he was doing better in school staying on task. He loves Karate and works hard to earn his next belt. The instructors teach respect for both in class and at home. We are thrilled with our experience!

My son Anthony has been enrolled in Draco academy for about 3 months now, the level of improvement I see on a daily basis is incredible. Not only am I proud that my son is following in my footsteps as a martial artist, he is proud of himself as well. Friends are being made not only with other students but with instructors and instructor helpers as well. My experience with the instructors and the academy itself has been a pleasant one, I recommend Draco to anyone and everyone. Looking forward to seeing my son succeed and excel with his fellow classmates and instructors in the future. Thanks Draco for the great experience, and looking forward to many more.

I was referred to Draco Academy after having a less than satisfactory experience with another Tai-Kwon-Do school within the inner city. My seven year old grandson (Jamir) took to Draco like a duck takes to water. Draco has a dedicated staff that are committed to excellence in all aspects of martial arts. The facilities are clean and orderly. Since being at Draco my grandson has become an A student. He shows more respect for others, and has improved tremendously in helping with household chores. I am particularly impressed that the staff are more concerned with the students proper forms and formations than just passing them through. Our family recently went on vacation and my grandson could not wait to get back home to get back to his classes. Another aspect of Draco academy that impresses me is their emphasis on student safety while practicing at school or at home. If it were possible I would rate Draco academy with ten stars instead of the five I am limited to. My grandson is currently a green belt and is looking forward to someday achieving his black belt from Draco academy. Lastly, Draco Academy has all the necessary tools and equipment the students need right on site. There is no need to run around to find something. I can not say how much my husband and I are pleased with Draco Academy!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first stated training at Draco Academy I didn't know what to expect. I was very shy and i was much weaker than I am now. I have learned so much in that short time period that i now feel soo much more confident in myself. The thing that really made me want to keep going with this complex art was the instructors, they made learning this deadly art fun and easy, but the thing that was really awesome was how much respect was involved in this school. I highly recommend this school for all people who want to learn Tae Kwon Do. You wont be disappointed.
