Ontario issues new invitations to Express Entry candidates.

• The sixth draw held by Ontario in each stream (Skilled trades and French speaking skilled worker streams) since the end of March took place on May 9 and 10.
• The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) said that 48 Express Entry candidates invited through skilled trades stream and 18 through French speaking skilled workers streams submitted their express entry profiles between Jan 1 2018 to May 10 2018.
• Since the start of 2018, Ontario has issued 652 Notifications of interest (NOIs) Through Ontario’s skilled Trades stream and 438 through French speaking skilled worker stream.

Raise in Canada’s immigration rate by 2030.

• A new report by the conference board of Canada argues that Raise in Canadas immigration rate to one per cent of its total population by 2030 would help offset the challenges.
• The increase would represent 415,000 new admissions to Canada, whose population would be pushing 42 million people in 2030.
• The estimate of immigration rate by one percent by 2030, will contribute one third of Canadas projected average annual Real GDP growth rate of 1.9 percent that year.
• The new report echoes calls by the Government of Canada, provincial governments, economists and business leaders across the country for increased immigration to counter labour shortages produced by Canada’s aging population.

In the new express entry draw, Manitoba invites 626 Immigration candidates

• Manitoba issued 626 letters of advice to apply for the provincial nomination in a new expression of interest draw conducted on May 11.
• The invited express entry person under Manitoba’s expression of interest (EOI) had the lowest score of 562.
• All the express entry candidates are invited through its express entry–linked skilled workers in Manitoba stream and skilled workers overseas stream
• The candidates with at least six months of recent experience in Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) in-demand occupation list.

New Brunswick’s population lends urgency for wide Talks on immigration

• Forty years ago, the province of New Brunswick’s labour force was growing by 4000 people a year, now it’s shrinking by almost the same amount.
• The major reason for New Brunswick declining workforce is because more residents are now retiring from the labour market than those looking for work or working.
• The loss of workers having a big impact on New Brunswick’s economic growth, reducing it to mere 0.5 percent annually.
• The vital need to increase immigration levels are by making some progress in terms of drawing newcomers.

• Express entry draw on May 9 issued 3,500 invitations to apply for Canadian PR with a Minimum comprehensive Ranking system score of 441.
• The Number of ITAs issued so far in 2018 brings to 28000 with this latest draw on May 9.
• IRCC Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, Have employed its Tie- break rule in the Latest Invitation Round. The date and time employed in this round is Dec 12 2017 at 1.51.38 that is CRS score above 441 or with 441who submitted their Profile before this time received an ITA.

Employment Growth Rate in Canada -2017 the quickest in a decade

• Total employment across Canada raised by 336,500, or 1.9 percent, The Fastest rate of growth since 2007, most of that growth was Full-time employment.
• Canada also acknowledges the largest year over year decline in the unemployment rate since the year 2000.
• Statistics Canada says most employment growth is in the tech sector –computer systems design and related service that is highly skilled and high earning industry.
• Employment growth was driven by Ontario followed by Quebec, British Columbia which witnessed an increase in jobs.
