I've spent the week working on remodeling an old building in an old town in West Virginia. It's a labor of love, and I've gotten the chance to work with a couple of my favorite people in the world. One of the craziest things about the work, though, has been how the building has continually "gifted" us with materials to help us out. (This isn't a professional remodel-we're working on it on basically zero funds to turn it into a community/worship center.) In the course of the week, we've discovered the following, which we intend to use: a urinal, brand new floor tiles, a small hot water tank, some ceiling tiles, an old wire spool that we painted pink and will use as a TV stand, a bar top completely covered in pennies! We've also gotten about 40 gallons of paint and 3,000 square feet of tile donated. It's been fairly surreal.
