#Leadership Coaching Tip & Insight of The Day

I just got off the phone with a coaching client who is a middle manager. Her company has just gone through a bit of a re-org and some essential HR /Talent development functions have been folded into another role (aka they have now disappeared).

Subsequently what's happened is directives of expectations are coming from top leadership with the expectation and comment, "We'd like for you to get these done." Her response, "We could use some help in skill development to achieve these directives."

Response = Just get it done.

Pleeeeeease don't have the kind of senior leadership team that does not offer support or training to match the expectation and then get annoyed and upset if the outcomes aren't achieved!

You know what's that called = cruel!

It's a new year! For many business owners, it's a chance to start fresh, take it to the next level -- kick it into high gear.. or what other saying suits you to express your desire to make this year better than last.

If any of those are on your agenda, here's an important insight -- If you have a desire to get new results, but in doing so are planning from old thinking, you're in trouble. New results require new thinking. #justsayin.

Nurturing fresh thinking is an essential practice for leaders and I share about that in my latest post. Let's get off the 'insane train" -- with my updated definition = thinking the old things over and over, but expecting different results.
