I'm curious what your thoughts are on this machine vs. the Sailrite basic walking foot machine. I'm looking to occasionally sew heavier duty fabrics: canvas, sails (for repairs), leather, felt.

the toyota is the smoothest.  the only reason you would use the sailrite is if you are cluncking thru real thick stuff.  but to be honest the toyota with  bit of soap on the material does the trick too  remember to put real thin needles on if you are doing spinnaker repairs and keep the machine well oiled
