Handy pub directly opposite the exit from the Gielgud Theatre, a good place to pop into for a quick post-show pint. The beer was good, and it has a nice atmosphere, though expect it to fill up with people as shows end all around it. It's a cramped bar, so expect to be bumped unless you can find yourself a corner to jam yourself into.

This pub should be grim. It should be creepy and uncomfortable, but it isn't. It might be haunted by reasonably priced spirits. It's a Samuel Smith's pub so it is quite brown, with some extra beige in places, but it's cheap, always full of an excitable crowd (excited to go to the theatre, or excited about discount drinks). It's friendly and cosy and you'll probably get a table upstairs, where you can enjoy a very nice wheat beer.

Traditional interior, but young and vibrant - though fairly intoxicated - crowd. A great hangout for students?

went to this place years ago.it was run by a big irish fella! think he must have passed on now.very welcoming and he was never short of a funny story.but mess about and you were out. if you looked too closely there were a few dodgy characters but they kept themselves to themselves.
