"Bakersfield is a working-class, oil and agriculture town at the bottom of the San Joaquin Valley in California. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The pollution that hovers above it silently takes years off residents’ lives. Twenty per cent of children in the area suffer from asthma and air pollution costs valley residents billions of dollars every year."

Greg Kahn was interviewed by The Weather Channel about his project 3 Millimeters. "Some of those who Kahn met along his journey don’t believe climate change is to blame for their current predicament. They understand change is afoot, but give other reasons: maybe it’s sea-level rise, or perhaps it’s erosion or simply the land sinking. Kahn said it’s not his job to try to change people’s minds — he believes sea-level rise is happening — but instead to document the community and how it’s changing."
