I love this place! Delicious Mexican/southwestern food. They bring warm bean dip to the table along with the salsa, service is friendly, and food is prepared quite quickly. Also, they have live Spanish guitar some nights!

Best Mexican in St. Louis!
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
There is no doubt that Salinas food is wonderful. We have been going there for 8 years and it is still great.

We've been occasional diners at Salina's since they opened many years ago. The wait staff are always friendly, the food is great, and we always enjoy ourselves. The salsa is a little tame for my taste, but other than that I've enjoyed nearly everything I've tried. A couple of the dishes are stellar - love the carnitas and the steak fajita's! Cozy little place to meet up with friends. Prices are very reasonable.

When we first moved to the Saint Louis area, we were surprised by the relative lack of mexican food, but Salina's satisfied our hankering for south-of-the-border cuisine. Our combination fajitas which we split was more than enough food for both of us and did not disappoint us with flavor. However, I will say that serve staff seemed rather short-handed.

My husband and I tried this restaurant last night. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly, and the food was good. However, the service was nearly the worst we've ever had: 1. They apparently "accidentally" overbilled us twice - first time charged us $280, then $80, then finally the correct amount. One mistake I can see, but twice? They say it was voided but it's still showing up on our statement. 2. My husband ordered diet coke and never got it. 3. My husband asked for his food without cheese and sour cream, and it came with both.

My wife and I haven't been here for 6 years and thought we'd try it again for a quick bite while waiting for a pizza from a nearby chain for our kids. We decided to have dinner in the bar and the food and service were great, and the server actually let us bring the pizza in........Then the owner showed up getting her perscription delivered. We were the only ony ones in the bar with our children (4 and 6 years old) and we were horse playing a bit and the kids giggled loudly and the owner says, "Oh, maybe my customers in the restaurant don't appreciate that." Ummm, what customers? There were 8 people in the place, besides us. The last time I checked, kids laughing is a pretty darned nice sound, especially in an empty bar. It will be the last time that I ever give this lady one cent of my money. Too bad the owner showed up before we left, because my wife and I actually were mentioning how we missed the place and were going to start coming back more often. There's other choices in West County that appreciate the business that have food that's just as good.

Love Salinas. Great food. Great service. We always get the chili rellenos and black beans. Fresh and tasty. Good margaritas too

Get the green chile cheeseburger. Sounds weird, but it's good. So is the bean salsa. It's been inconsistent lately, and the Tea party rally at the last visit pretty much killed any chance of going back.
