I tried out the windows 8 preview. The new "Metro" interface is better than I first thought, but it's really designed for tablet computers. On a desktop with a large monitor and/or a second monitor it either makes things look huge or wastes a lot of space. They should make it so you can change the app layout on the screen more, maybe make customizable sub sections of the screen to be able show more than one app and a sidebar at a time. Then if they add better support for multiple monitors it could be quite good. I'll keep testing it for a while to see if I change my mind after using it more.
