Good post.
This may be a rambling and somewhat disorganised post. Consider yourself warned.

Nature's way of telling people to cut the hell back on eating so much meat and ruining the environment.
Forget choosing to be a vegetarian: A Lone Star tick in Long Island, NY, will make you allergic to red meat.

The spa offers "float" tubs for infants who are too young to walk, allowing them to stimulate their muscles in new ways and encourage development.

Always thought this to be one of the most barbaric things in the world, that you could be born into slavery and have it accepted so readily as your fate.
There are hundreds of thousands of workers cleaning human excrement, which is more than the Indian government is willing to tally, according to Human Rights Watch.

My instinct is that if they are here in North America or having left India, it was because their caste wasn't of the highest (priest, etc)

I like the sentiment but this article was pathetic. Your mom still does the laundry? "fights" your battles with the principal and boss for you? WTF?
From the time you were born until the age you are now, there has always been one person totally invested in your happiness: your mother.

Exactly. Why doesn't anyone ask my partner how he's going to manage taking care of Baby Bun and working? I'm always the one fielding those questions.

It gets even worse.

If I'm on a project and so is he, people assume he'll continue working to support us (not true, I support myself and my half), so they give him precedent over staying / becoming extended on projects whereas I am usually the one who ends up leaving.
The questioning of a woman’s authority and place as a leader reflects the antiquated notions that women are too fragile, weak and emotional.

For me, it's just a bit sad that someone at 40 feels the need to show off more skin than someone at 20. Or even 30, like me. Who cares?
Damnnn. Heidi Klum has still got it. The German super model is 41, and she doesn't look a day over 30.

Just a girl who cleared $60,000 in 18 months using my budgeting tool.
Introduction
I was heavily in debt to the tune of $60,000. I started learning about my money when I realized a year's worth of salary gross was pretty much my debt.

Now I blog at "Save. Spend. Splurge." (www.savespendsplurge.com)

I cleared that debt in 18 months with my budgeting tool (www.thebudgetingtool.com), lived out of a suitcase.

I am now am $260,000 richer than I was when I first started managing my money.

This has to be one of the worst Home Hardwares I have ever visited. First, while most of the people working there are friendly, they have this ONE employee who ruins the whole experience -- a short Asian woman who does not have a friendly demeanor in the slightest. Second, their goods are pretty cheap crap. I'm talking mostly made in China, India, all the places that don't sell quality items, and if I wanted to buy Third World junk, I'd go to Home Depot or Rona where the prices are far lower. Third, the store is really cramped and crammed full of stuff, but not in an organized manner. I can't say that I'd come back here to buy anything because... frankly they don't have anything worth buying.
