I don't know if Tyler is actually going to stay awake through the whole thing, but you better believe I'm hoping so.
Nvidia's just kicked off Game24, a 24-hour, multi-city livestream event that they've labeled a "PC gaming holiday." I'm in attendance at Hangar 8 in Santa Monica, California for the start of broadcast.

The bit in the trailer with Nate in free-fall is honest-to-god laugh-out-loud funny. Great animation and voice work.
Released to English audiences in 2011, The Book of Unwritten Tales was a wonderful point-and-click fantasy adventure about a gnome named Wilbur Weathervane, who unexpectedly finds himself at the center of a struggle for the fate of the entire world. It was lighthearted, silly, and laugh-out-loud funny in places, and a big hit with adventure fans, as evidenced...

Complete with comments that are exactly as you'd expect them to be!
You are probably at least peripherally aware of the furor that followed the release of the latest Tropes vs. Women in Videogames video, which got so bad that creator Anita Sarkeesian was actually compelled to leave her home because of threats made against her and her family. It's an appalling state of affairs by...

I dig old-school games, but not everything from the 80s is necessarily as good as you remember it.
I'm standing in the dark. My torch has run out, and I'm left to reflect on the foolishness of lighting the ones I passed in previous rooms and then leaving them in their sconces. No matter where I try to move in this pitch blackness, I take a step, trip, and crack my head open on a nearby rock. Several reloads have confirmed it: I have to start over. Welcome to Shadowgate.

Star Citizen will either be a work of genius, or a spectacular bust. There will be no middle ground here.
The Star Citizen crowdfunding campaign broke the $49 million mark yesterday, a sum that's especially astonishing because it's being thrown at the niche—some would say dead—space combat sim genre. Yet even with all that scratch at his disposal, Cloud Imperium mastermind Chris Roberts wants even more! Why? Well, because he's building a really big game.

RUSSIA NUMBER ONE!
As part of an effort to show how the United States uses propaganda to influence the mindset of its citizens, a historical documentary recently aired by Russia's Channel One offered up what it said was a First World War-era poster portraying German soldiers as monsters who literally eat babies. One problem: It wasn't a soldier, it was the Soldier, and the poster is Team Fortress 2 fan art.

Time to back another Kickstarter!
Pathologic is now on Kickstarter. I've already explained why a remake of 2005 open-world adventure is a good thing, and now we're that one step closer to a game that could—if we're very lucky—do justice to Ice Pick Lodge's weird, horrifying, innovative and ambitious debut. As you might expect, their pitch video is just the right ...

LOOK AT ALL MY GAMES (this is not all my games)
Steam makes it easy to collect games, but as a tool for maintaining a collection it suffers from a few shortcomings. It's not much use for cataloging Infocom classics, say, or that Splinter Cell special edition that came in a metal lunchbox, and some die-hard collectors—people who'll pass on a game because the packaging is just a little too banged up—may not consider "owning" a game on Steam the same as having it parked in a place of pride on a s...

It's free, but it's still not as good as TIE Fighter.
It's hard to be too critical of anything that's free, assuming that the free thing in question isn't actually doing you harm. So even though I'm not a big fan of Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger, I can recommend it right now because it's free—"On the house," you might say—and it's probably not going to set your PC on fire.
