+Gareth Kirby has made a wonderful debut to our community with his glorious pictures of lavender. His light painting is pretty handy too!

Just saying hi. I'm a non pro from Hertfordshire. I don't stick to any particular type of subject and hopefully what I have to share will be worthy of this group.

Are you brave enough to explore an abandoned tube station?

RSVP: http://goo.gl/aL1RiF

Abandoned since 1994, access to Aldwych Station has been strictly limited… until now.

We’re offering 44 City Experts the unique opportunity to take part in a rare Aldwych Station tour.

Quietly hidden away beneath the busy streets of London, we’ll be exploring the underground labyrinth of hidden passages, long-forgotten tunnels and the deserted walkways of a station that was once frequented by Londoners for almost 100 years.

Feeling brave enough to join us? This event is open to qualified City Experts (sign up at g.co/cityexpert) who write at least 5 new reviews on Google. We’ll send you a confirmation email by 21st to let you know you’re on the list.

We’ll be taking two separate groups to venture into the station; one at 11am, and one at 1pm. Photography inside the station is not permitted, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled and make this journey into the tube one you’ll never forget!

That's strange, I went down there with English Heritage member's event and took many photos. I think London Transport Museum arrange tours too.

Google's awesomeness when it comes to photos just keeps getting more and more awesome ;o)

Google's new camera app is live in the +Google Play  store and has some awesome new features for you android shooters!

Some of the +UK Photography Community  team have the app and will do some testing tomorrow :D, don't forget to send your images in!

Via +Adam Lasnik , posted by +Mathew Hanley  .

Today we’re launching Google Camera, a new app for your Android phone or tablet that makes it easy to take quick photos and videos. And being behind the lens just got more fun with new creative picture modes.

Sleek Design. The 100% viewfinder gets out of your way while capturing the maximum resolution of the scene (no dropped pixels). And the extra large capture button is easy to press so your eyes never lose sight of the subject.

Lens Blur. Emphasize the subject while blurring the background for an SLR-like shot with shallow depth-of-field (or bokeh). You can even change the subject in focus after taking the shot.

Improved Panorama. New higher resolution panoramas capture the full width and detail of a scene.

Photo Sphere. Immersive 360 degree photo spheres let you look up, down and all around...now at up to 50 megapixels! For the first time available on non-Nexus devices.

Google Camera is now available on the Play store (http://goo.gl/llsZjx), and works on all phones and tablets running Android 4.4+ KitKat. We’re just getting started, and in the months ahead we'll make Google Camera available to more devices, helping make photography easier, faster and more fun.

Check out our Research Blog to learn more (http://goo.gl/lUDfi8).

I started using Google Camera this morning (on my HTC One). works like a treat and I love the simplicity! so easy to use. only wish there was a way to alter the white balance whilst taking a photo or to take still photos when recording video. I'm yet to try the photosphere and pano features.

If you are into Photoshop processing, may be just beyond beginner level, then this fantastic and fascinating hangout is well worth viewing. As is a visit to the website of +John Paul Caponigro, where he has a fantastic array of learning material, not to mention brilliant art.

The home of UK photographers on Google+
Introduction
Welcome to the home of UK photographers on Google+.

The UKPC is specifically for photos taken within the UK.

The UK Photography Community has been running on Google+ since Pages were launched. It exists to bring together all those from the UK that are interested in photography, whatever their equipment or skill level.

How do I join the UKPC?

The UKPC is specifically for photos taken within the UK.

*ADD THE UKPC PAGE TO YOUR CIRCLES* and then..... If you live the UK, Crown Dependencies or you're an Ex Pat... There are a total of 3 steps you need to take...

*STEP ONE* Which region do you live in? (only one allowed).
If you need help see UKPC REGIONS

*STEP TWO* Got your region?
Visit your profile & add it to your "CONTACT information" <-example

*STEP THREE* Use the "request an invite" button on our Community Page
You will receive a notification that your request was successful once you have been added to our circles.

*P O L I TE W A R N I N G* - Please read the following information carefully.

If you request an invite to the community prior to completing steps 2 and 3, (for example - if admin visit your profile & do not find your region noted within your contact details as requested above) you will be ignored and you will not be able to join.

We appreciate that the above process might take a moment or two of your time. We thank you for following the above steps. This process reduces the amount of time the admin team spend adding new members to the UKPC. It allows us more time to share your photos. You will only have to complete these steps once and your cooperation is greatly appreciated. *UKPC REGIONS*

We look forward to seeing and sharing your images in the UK Photography Community. If you need extra help please email us at ukpc.gplus@gmail.com one of the team will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
