Waste of time and money for sub-par food. Went here on and the place was almost empty. Go to somewhere close like leadbelly that is actually good.

This is the first restaurant review I've ever written, and I felt compelled to do so because never have I felt like I wasted so much money trying a new restaurant. I stopped by Brix & Stone with a friend on Friday for dinner, and I had the Volcano Chicken, which was highly recommended by our server. The entree made no sense at all. It was two average pieces of chicken strips on rice, with a sauce, and a stuffed poblano pepper on the side. The chicken was drowned in the sauce, so what was once crispy turned into mush once it hit the table. Furthermore, the moist rice only contributed to an even more mushy chicken. There was so much sauce that it drowned the already-soggy rice and gave it a chowder-like consistency. The arrangement of this dish is illogical. The poblano pepper was bland and under-seasoned. Not really a lot to say. The pepper and the chicken & rice didn't really seem like a cohesive dish. It was nowhere worth the $17 I paid for it and seemed like a poorly-conceived frozen food box. However, I did manage to eat most of it because I didn't want to waste the money. This isn't even touching on the atmosphere of the restaurant, which was also poorly thought out. There were so many art pieces hanging behind the chairs you sat it in that if you move back far enough, you will hit it. I sat in a corner in the restaurant and there was a lamp right next to me, which didn't make sense because it just takes up more space. If there's a silver lining in all of this, it's the host and server, Cassandra and Maxwell, which were both very pleasant folks. Nonetheless, I will never come back, ever.

We came to Nebraska for my nephew Stephens wedding. The night before the wedding, we were looking for a place to eat. Our hotel was in the Hay Market, so we decided to go wondering around. My nephew Brent was starving, so we thought we'd find a restaurant. We checked out the menu at the Brix and decided to try it. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty but by the time we left, it as packed. You think of a restaurant like this in Los Angeles, Miami or New York, Surprised to find such a cosmopolitan restaurant in Nebraska. The ambiance was Upscale, yet casual. The menu was amazing. Fun combinations to pick from. Deciding what to eat, took a while. The people at the table next to us were raving about the the buffet in the back of the restaurant but we stuck to the menu. I'm glad we did. I thought the food was excellent. The waitress was very pleasant. I wish I could remember her name to give her some credit. I thought the prices were good too. The bartender was able to make my Blue Hawaiian, which is my fun drink of choice. This was a great find, in the middle of the country. I would recommend this restaurant for an excellent meal.

Hostess was pleasant. Our waiter, Max, on the other hand was sloooooow. Didn't get a refill on our waters until right before we were about to leave and had to ask multiple times to get certain things (probably because he was interrupting me when I was asking for things). Food was decent. I got the Fresno Wrap and it was okay. Far from the best wrap I've ever had. Very dry. Tots that came with it were good. My wife for a Salmon dish and she thought it was excellent. This is the 4th time we've been here; never with good service. Which is too bad because its a pretty cool environment. I'd probably take my money else where though-- food is expensive and service is horrible.

Good food and a good menu. It was a busy sunday lunch for them so they trouble with service. Will try again in the future.

It was about some time ago, but April was our waitress. Service was excellent, as always with April. Ordered a medium steak, it was beyond perfection. April tended to our only quagmire; the bread was a bit too hard. April replaced it with fresh in a moments notice. Point made: April was the best. Perfect face, bubbly personality and exquisite customer service with April...hands down, the best.

What can I Say...My Wide and I have been hearing out this Gastropub in the Haymarket and I am sad to say that it took us 3 years to get there. We could just kick ourselves. What a Fun, Enjoyable and Delicious Experience. My Wife had the Whiskey Steak that was Loaded with Tasty Crisp Peppers and a Butter Sauce and I had the Volcano Chicken that had sliced Avocado on top (Avocado is my Favorite) and it did not disappoint. Amazing! Our Server was Max and what a buttoned up Kid! He was able to answer any Questions that I might have had and was full of suggestions. If you have not tried Brix and Stone in the Haymarket you must make this your destination! Two Thumbs up! Keep up the good work and I hope you are here to stay.

Great location in the Haymarket. The restaurant is surprisingly large and can handle big parties. They have a great collection of craft beers and have a nice variety of mix's they can do. I ordered the mahi mahi fish and chips, it was delicious and I would highly recommend it. Our waiter was very friendly and provided a great level of service. I really enjoyed this place and will definitely return.
