Novelrank isn't much use anymore. Even when you give it the ISBN of a book in print that's available on Amazon.com, it can't find the book. Pity. It's more useful for tracking Amazon sales than Amazon is, but obviously, this only works for books they can find. Finding half the books in a series isn't really helpful.

Who are these people, most of whom I have never heard of, that Google+ is recommending I add? Say what? Then, when I click on the more option, it suggests I add Snoop Dogg.

Um. What is it about tanka poetry, tall ships, and LGBT issues that suggests 'Snoop Dogg?!?'

Google+ does not seem very useful, even if does seem better organized than Facebook.

Redneck Fishing Tournement for invasive Asian carp. It's legal to drink beer and drive boats at high speed while hanging over the side trying to catch carp -- but don't trail your feet in the water. That'll get ya fined.

At last! Reasonable hope for a blood test to diagnose depression:

http://www.latimes.com/health/la-he-depression-blood-test-20120418,0,6787106.story
Even among psychiatric disorders, depression is a difficult disease to diagnose. Its causes remain a mystery, its symptoms can't be defined with precision, and treatments are spotty at best.
