Always empty fuel from power tools and lawn mowers prior to moving. If you are unsure of what items your mover cannot handle make sure to discuss it with them prior to moving day to ensure you on schedule and ready to rock moving day!

If you are moving to or from a highly congested area you may need to scout out and park in the best spots the day before the move to ensure that there is a place for the moving truck to park without blocking local residents.

STOP with the BULK: Approximately a month to a month and a half before moving stop buying in bulk and start running down the stock. You can resume stocking at the new place.

When moving with cats give your cat ample time to get used to the carrier being around. Place it out in general population and then slowly add favorite items and treats into the carrier. If done gradually, the carrier will not be a punishment, rather it will be a 'safe place' for your pet come moving day.

Feel that the kids are working against you as you are trying to pack for your move? Put them to work! Working out a reward system for hard work is a great way to motivate kids and teach them some valuable lessons. Small rewards like a friend sleep-over or a favorite meal cooked can go a long way with the little ones! #Moving   #SanDiego   #Movers

For each child in your family pack an overnight bag and do not pack it on the moving truck. The bag should include: any necessary medicines, formulas, snacks, favorite toys, activities and change of clothes.
Having items on-hand--instead of frantically digging through a sea of boxes...will save you time and potential melt-down times with your little ones.

If you are moving with pets and your pet is already micro-chipped, call the registry & change your address /number so they can reach you quickly if needed. If you haven't gotten around to micro-chipping your pet, now is the time.

If you are moving with children to a new neighborhood take some extra time to tak a tour of the neighborhood with your children. Introduce yourself to other families with kids, set up play dates when possible and check out parks and local rec centers. The more familiar your children become with the neighborhood, the easier the transition will be moving forward.

Remember Outside Your Home!
Avoid focusing solely on packing the interior of your home.
Many things are overlooked in the: yard, garage and storage sheds. Outdoor lighting, lawn furniture, yard tools, potted plants, lighting, kids and dog toys and more are waiting for you to pack them up to be moved.
