Nostalgic Mystery
This is true. You have made me a mysterious heaven, motioning in silence, a cosmic walk, your pillar on the moon, every step is for the purpose, my opportunity to draw nearer, drink from the well of valley stars, to quench the wet fire that arise and arise,...

Catching Feelings (spoken)
I guess we should have thought about it Took a second to think our feelings through Instead of being true to our feelings Which led to lust and more falsified emotions As we roll over, tossing and turning like a fantastic overage plan In knotted sheets,  we...

Overwhelm Me
Suffocate me with your wit and charm And you'll hear me breath for the very first time my revived wings shall fly high Give me deep throat kisses That leave me gasping for air Taste the saltiness of my ocean lair, see how far it runs As you click into a sea...

Labor of Love
The womb goddess of birth She is the fertilizer of earth In every grey strand Runs tiny feet and hands A man's entire life Lies in her lap Like grazing pastures Gently, she may ask her Princess what's the matter As dark days scatter At the site of her entra...

Darla, Back at Home Pt. 2
The sun smiled in and out as Darla drove down the Blvd  in her black two seater. She felt another migraine coming on as  she reached in her bag for a Tylenol.  Finally she pulled up to her two door garage condo.  As she slowly walked towards her door, her s...

Butterflies Cry
Pretty wings of yellow, black, and orange soaring- changing the world one flutter at a time buttering the earthy eye with dazzling color as it lands, sits alone waiting for a friend for someone to admire or smile at but, occasionally its wishes aren't grant...

Remember The Rose
Always remember the rose, the red petals which have not withered, You have seen its reflection when I struggled in the shade. The delicate touch upon my creased forehead, That ever so delicate trace that made me feel safe and cared for.  Always remember us ...

Darla's Cure
She didn't seem like a doctor Darla thought as she she sat in the oval office. Of course it had the hard grain wood and marble finish. But, the doctor was too friendly, like a long last acquaintance. Darla observed the lady toss her blond hair to the side. ...

Darla, Back at Home
Darla stepped off the steel train.  Her ride went smoothly compared to her last trip.  Darla's plump frost lips puckered as she sucked on  a piece of peppermint candy. The wind was chilly,  Darla whispered, "here I am, back in the cold-cruel city."  She rea...

Introduction

Ms. Jessica Hughes better known as Jhpoetry in the cyber world has been writing for more than ten years.  She was born and raised in the upper parts of South Carolina. As the only child to a single parent she became creative early in life. And this imaginative seed grew well into her adulthood where she fell in love with her muse. During this time span, Jessica has used the tool of poetry to express her voice. And in doing so she has been widely noted as a diverse poetess. However, Ms. Jessica’s new collection of poems “BLUE MAGIC “ ~ A Prelude To Love~  is a scope into the rebirth of  her most intimate works.

Bragging rights
Ms. Jessica Hughes has been fortunate enough to attend book signings in various counties. She is eager to participate in another book signing where she currently resides in Charlotte, NC. Jessica participates and enjoys engaging in poetry readings. She also has experience in writing specialized poems for family, friends, and for those who take pleasure in her work. Her poetry has been admired by her peers as well as total strangers.
