What's new? Second tattoo started and I cannot adequately convey how much joy this is giving me! The artist did an amazing job capturing the photo I gave her...we got the important parts and she transferred it to a (complex and long-term) tattoo-able image. I can highly recommend Floating Lotus Tattoo in Portland.  What else is happening is that I am hating how Google+ is displaying my feed...not so much the 2 columns but the FONT SUCKS and is barely readable to me. Ts and Fs (lowercase) are bolded. Why?? And I cannot find anywhere to change this....pointers to the settings I need are more than welcome. I'm going back to the shadows to lurk some more.

(Reposted verbatim from FB to save typing...yoiks, do I have to think about saving my typing muscles TOO? Oy!...so if it looks familiar, that would be why.)

I no longer get to live steeped in that river in Egypt. Saw the post-polio specialist today, who did some (moderately painful!) tests. At our initial visit, he was not certain I had had polio, but additional information I provided today helped, as did the (definitive) results of the EMGs. Where most folks have 8 muscle fibers per bundle, I have 4...and they are VERY LARGE. Which is why I have strength (in the moment) but no stamina in them. Also means when I lose one to aging, I lose 1/4 of my functionality, not 1/8 like normal people will.

He was very very clear. I am to do only the absolute minimum of what I need to do for self-care, to use my scooter ANY time I am out, to never go into a grocery store without using their electric carts, to walk no farther than my car to my apartment door at any one time, and to walk and stand as little as possible.

Argh! This is gonna be hard. And he provided me with Scientific Data, so I can't even pretend it might not be true!

And if a friend hadn't been with me to witness it, I maybe could still be in that river. But not now.

Minions. I need minions! Any volunteers??

Ouch - okay, yeah. My sympathies and my offer of whatever assistance I can provide, when I can provide it.

(I don't mind if minioning is fun - but I'll help regardless of fun or not.)

A decent picture of phase 1 of dragon tattoo. Top of right thigh, my knee would be at the bottom of the picture. Next session: shading. Then color after that. I'll keep the photos updated!

It says "share what's new". But...either everything is new (I succeed with beginner's mind) or nothing is new (we've all been here before). Perhaps Google+ is actually a Zen koan in disguise.
