Meet our fragrant spring tree! We mulched it with comfry that's growing beside it. The tree's leek-tasting young leaves are used as a spice.

We love foraging garlic mustard. The earlier in the season you get it, the less spicy it will be. But the kick is nice if you're into it!

Last month we planted German Butterball potatoes in the market garden and mulched them to keep the soil moist and the weeds slow. They've grown vigorously and have now had their first hill mulching (instead of hilling with soil). http://ow.ly/i/v1OpJ http://ow.ly/i/v1Orr
