I feel like it's "not even wrong." It's a cocked head moment.
The premise here seems to be, "Who gives a fuck about the Dalai Lama, there are other better denominations! Go educate yourself!" I don't understand why he seems to think it's a bad thing that the Dalai Lama gets press. If the Dalai Lama didn't get press, the other Buddhist denominations he talks about would be absolutely unknown in the Western world. And though he was elevated to the world stage through circumstance, HHDL himself has done a lot of good on that stage.
It's absolutely like someone bashing Ubuntu for being the most popular Linux distro. It also seems a bit too vitriolic for someone who is ostensibly advocating for Buddhism of any sort. Much too much attachment :)
