Introducing the newly developed oval vacuum cups series.

The vacuum cups are characterised by a very long cycle life, which has also been successfully demonstrated against vacuum cups of competitors in practical operation. The long service life is enabled by means of a new high wear- and oil-resistant NBR material and a special vacuum suction cup construction which minimises the load on the vacuum cup during handling.

Awesome Tech of the Week!

Road Zipper!!!

This amazing piece of technology allows the amount of lanes going each way to change to accommodate peak traffic directions!
It picks up the barriers from the left of the lane and places them down on the right, allowing an extra lane to be added to the side with the most traffic.

Awesome Tech of the Week!

Baymax from Big Hero 6

If you saw Big Hero 6 over the summer you'll know what I mean when I say the soft, squishy inflatable robot named Baymax was absolutely adorable.

Little did I know, the robot was actually inspired by a real technology being developed at Carnegie Mellon University!
Their Robotics Institute has been working on "soft robotics" with the health care industry in mind. If you're looking for a robot to help feed or bathe someone, having a big, chunky, metal robot may not be the safest option.

Check out this article by the university for more information!

Project of the month:

CFA Firefighting Simulator

The remote operated pneumatic system controls the intensity of flames at a CFA fire simulator site for training.
If fire fighters work together and the operator could see them attacking the fire correctly they would reduce the intensity of the flame.

This makes training operations safer and creates better preparation for firefighters before being exposed to a real fire scene.

Awesome technology of the week:
In April of last year, Festo released an awesome piece of technology.
The BionicKangaroo!
Kangaroos can reach speeds of up to 70kph (44mph) and are extremely energy efficient. This is ideal for travelling long distance for food and water.
The BionicKangaroo is an amazing example of potential energy and what can be achieved with it.
Here's a quick video demonstration!
