A few friends of mine visit Salvatore's when we come to the PAX East convention in Boston. Salvatore's is usually our first night's dinner. It's a bit fancy for my taste, but very good food. I'm used to Americanized Italian food, and that's what Salvatore's does NOT do. All the food is very fresh, very good, and comes in very large portions. Go hungry if you plan to eat everything. I will definitely go again.

Overly dressed salad and 'bolognese' with sausage and wine was subpar. My colleague said it best: "Better than Olive Garden". Staff was nice...

Visiting Boston for a conference, stopped by here. Had the bruschetta burger and it was really good! Their bread and pesto spread before the meal also good. I had a white wine sangria that was good and strong. Food is reasonably priced and they weren't too busy in the evening when we decided to go.

Although the bolognese wasn't great, the other two dishes (a risotto special and lamb rack) were OK and pretty nice respectively. As per usual in Boston, soft drinks seem pretty watered down with ice. An OK restaurant but by no means a must visit.

we ordered the calamari appetizer, and I ordered the broccoli and chicken Alfredo for my entree, and it was the best Italian food I've ever had. The Alfredo sauce was amazing! I wish that they had a location in my city. The only bad thing was that we made a reservation, but we still had to wait for about 30 minutes when we got there because they said that some big groups walked in.

Absolutely fantastic pizzas. I can't speak to the experience of eating in, but for the past four years my group of friends has made "Salvatore's takeout and hotel room gaming" a recurring part of our PAX East experience, and the food is always fantastic. We have tried most of their offering, but some favorites we keep returning to are the Mushroom Florentine (a white pizza with roasted garlic, mushrooms, onions, spinach and ricotta), and their Chicken Pesto. Their salads are also quite good. The best part? Despite being slammed on a weekend with 60,000+ people attending a convention locally, they still had our order ready in about 30 minutes. Amazing for even a non-busy pizza place, but exceptional under the circumstances. Highly recommended for takeout.

When looking for a company to provide catering for a 60 person event, I came across Salvatore's via Foodler. Their menu looked fabulous and their prices were more than reasonable. We submitted a $550 order with Salvatore's a week in advance, it was great that Foodler was able to make was is normally an annoying time consuming process very simple. Unfortunately, there was a glitch in Foodler's system and Salvatore's never received the purchase order for our event, despite having received a confirmation from Foodler that the order was good to go. We showed up at the restaurant two hours before our event and they had no clue about our order. This is where Salvatore's becomes fabulous. While they could not recreate our exact order in such a short period of time, they put together a fabulous, fresh assortment of sandwiches, grilled veggie salads, cannoli, and various appetizers and delivered in time for our event! The food was great -- no thanks to Foodler -- and everyone from those who knew about the catering problem to our event's guests were impressed with the quality and flavors of the food. Many asked where it was from and expressed interest in visiting the restaurant independently... not something many people say about catering. While I think that we would have been very happy with the food had there not been an issue with Foodler, we were especially happy with the service and quality of the food we received in light of the technical issue. And we definitely plan to order directly from Salvatore's for future events.

food is great, service is great. i mostly eat in the lounge area. live bands will be playing, for a quieter night the dining room is just as good.
