Because Affinity Designer and Photo share the same file format you can do basic bitmap manipulation already inside the Affinity Designer such as masking an image and work with layer adjustments.

This is pretty fantastic having a vector app with some basic bitmap manipulation tools already build in. Specifically when all you need is scan in hand sketches and remove the paper background!

Amazing software!

While testing a web based design engine I noticed how sluggish Chrome is on Mac. A quick test on Win10 however showed the same speed issue. Testing Edge or Safari was amazingly fast.

Does anybody else have the feeling that with web apps Chrome got somewhat slow in the rest time (month year?) I mainly use it for everything and when testing Edge I was stunned to see the speed difference - which I then only noticed.

Bye Bye expensive and sluggish Adobe.
Welcome Serif Labs Affinity Design and Photo.

Amazing products for a fraction of the cost and now Mac and Win based.

+Yopi Djauhari I am actually not doing video Tuts in my class anymore. As it turned out the long term effect was students not spending enough attention in class. I degraded them to use a notebook in class during the time I give demos.

However Affinity itself has superb web tuts and at tutsplus.com you can find many stellar free Affinity tuts.

Nothing will make my students more happy today then campus being closed because of the weather condition canceling all end of semester final presentations ...

Best award / recognition price ever!!!

I got this one this year at the Autodesk University in Las Vegas for the work I do providing feedback to Autodesk.

Now my necks some time to stop hurting - this piece is solid and heavy.

Thank you AD for this and Fusion 360 - the best parametric CAD design environment for designers.

I wish this app would be there for MacOS and Win10 as well.
That would be amazing.

http://www.android-x86.org/download download 5.1 image and install it on VMWare.

instructions can be found in the same site if i recall correctly.

search for setting custom resolution in Android X86 as well.

by the way, no other ready packaged android emulator (used for games) will run the app at all, or will run allow for wacom pressure sensitivity.

i have sent to all major distributors a request to add "disconnect USB device from windows, connect to android".

Android has built in Wacom drivers that support pressure sensitivity.

You can actually connect a Huge Wacom tablet to a phone or tablet and start drawing. very funny.

Anybody has an idea how to make Inkscape Gimp or Krita have bigger icons on windows10 on a surface Pro or Book? It seems that those apps do not scale at all when increasing the display size.

My first industrial design workflow course is online at Pluralsight focusing
on advanced solid and surface hybrid modeling with Fusion 360.

If you have a Pluralsight membership and use Fusion, check it out.

My work as a Research Assistant (Designer) is taking rapid shape. Getting ready to file for the first patents.

So much Blender was used for it to feed Fusion for the finale assembly.

Really showed that Blender is a top notch design tool.

I just installed MacOS Sierra on the MacPro 2008 and started to transfer apps from my older partition. And then I came across this little friend.

Funny thing - years ago apps like those were so much the hot stuff. Today who really watches DVDs on a PC.

Amazing how things changed.

Just one more question have you had any trouble with this install as far as security issues?
