If you believe in Jesus, then I have a question for you. Do you really believe in the Jesus of the Bible? Check out this short video...

Back when I was an atheist (which was for most of my life) sometime around age 13, it really bothered me that tigers and zebras had stripes. And none of those stripes ever crisscrossed. I mean...everything with evolution it's supposed to be random and kinda accidental...so how did something like stripes come out designed so perfectly (have you ever seen stripes crisscross)?

Now that, by God's grace, He has revealed Himself to me in much more detail and saved me from my sins by way of His Word (the Bible)...it's very, very easy to look at nature as total and complete proof that God exists. This is one way God has revealed Himself to every single human being. God has revealed Himself to each one of us through nature...and God says that nobody is without excuse for not believing in Him since proof of God is EVERYWHERE around us. Here are the scripture verses that talk about this:

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse."

-Romans 1:18-20

Don't believe in God? God has made evidence of Him available to you every single day. You are without excuse.

God spoke to me as well through creation when I did not yet know Him. I traveled the world looking to live the perfect life and seek pleasure from travel while I was still single and without a family. The emptiness remained but God was drawing me through the beauty of His creation. This was obviously not the only way He was beginning to reveal Himself to me and how He ultimately saved me.
Alex, it is amazing how God used what would appear to be such a small thing to get your attention. Who knew that the stripes on a tiger and a zebra could be a shout from heaven :).

Joel Osteen is the epitome of a wolf in sheep's clothing. He's a danger to this world because he perverts God's Word!

Titus 2:1 says..."But as for you [Titus], speak the things which are fitting for..." good bands and music? Emotionally charged worship services? Speaking in tongues or healing people? Fun games and activities? Delicious food?

Nope: "...sound doctrine." That's where we should primarily be putting our effort...in learning sound doctrine. That way we may know God correctly and thus share His gospel faithfully. And only from sound doctrine can we worship God best because we know who God truly is. Only from sound doctrine can there be true unity in the church.

Great testimony from a former Catholic whom, by God's grace, realized Catholicism won't lead her to salvation.

If you are reading this, then God has ordained this exact moment for you right now to be reading this. My prayer for you is that you would come to be saved, and if already saved then obedient to God. Nothing is more important than being obedient to God.

Lots of people have ideas about God, but almost always those ideas are wrong. There is only one true God...He's the God of the Bible. Being disobedient to Him is called sin. Ever told a lie? No matter how long ago or how small...that's a sin. Ever stolen something? No matter how long ago or how small...that's a sin. Ever been angry and/or hated someone? You've murdered that person in your heart says God. That's a sin. Ever not loved or treated someone as you would have done to yourself? That's a sin. Ever been jealous? That's a sin. Ever complained about anything? That's a sin. Ever not trusted God and been totally 100% dependent on Him? That's a sin. Ever put anything in a higher place than God? That's idolatry. That's a sin. That is not loving God above all else. That's also a sin. Have you ever committed a sin? Of course you have. I mean...nobody's perfect. But God commands we are to be perfect as He is perfect.

Maybe you don't believe in God. Maybe you think what I used to think for most of my life: God is an imaginary figure humans created. Well, quite frankly, truth doesn't depend on whether you believe it or not. Think of another truth...like gravity. Does gravity's existence really depend on whether or not you "believe in it?" For my weather friends, does a rotating supercell cease to exist because you don't believe in thunderstorms? It doesn't matter whether you believe God exists or not because His existence doesn't depend on your beliefs. What matters is that God does exist. And He demands perfection from you.

If you sin once, you have sinned against an eternal and perfect God and you have to pay for those sins...eternally. The punishment for sin is death...first physical death, then continued spiritual death (being in hell). But God has done something wonderful to pay for your sins ONLY if you truly accept this gift. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who is God in human flesh...to live in this world. He lived a sinless life. He was perfect (only God Himself could be perfect after all!). Jesus was then killed...but rose again three days later proving to thousands of people He is really God. And since He died after living a perfect life, His death was able to substitute the spiritual death we each deserve. But that substitution only applies to those who believe Jesus truly is God, died to pay for our sins, and rose again on the third day. And because of that we can be declared righteous before God. When God sees a Christian, He simply sees the perfection of Christ. But it only applies to those who understand their sin...and have a deep understanding of the need for someone to save us from our sins: Jesus Christ. It applies only to those who are, in desperation and depravity, seeking forgiveness for their sins and have a desire to totally and completely turn away from their sins. They want nothing more to do with their sin. There is no good work, deed, or special formula that can help anyone become saved.

It's by faith alone in Christ as revealed in the Bible. Faith in Christ plus anything is not really faith in Christ. Faith in Christ plus sacraments is not faith in Christ. Faith in Christ plus baptism is not faith in Christ. Faith in Christ plus good works, praying to Mary or dead saints, or anything else is not a real faith in Christ. Christ plus a love for this world or a love of the things in this world is not real faith in Christ. Faith in Christ plus living a life than can be characterized by a love for sins like cursing, fornication (sex outside of marriage), adultery (even lusting after another female), homosexuality, pornography, pride, self-love, hating others, anger, arrogance, drunkenness, lying, stealing, etc...is not real faith in Christ. Real faith is in Christ alone. A real faith in Christ produces a repentance of sin and a striving obedience to His commands for holiness.

As a Christian...life becomes harder. Christians are promised persecution. The understanding of sin becomes greater. Being in Christ will change and gradually remove your desire for sin. Instead of being a slave to sin, you will be a slave to Christ...which includes a desire to totally change your life around so that you follow God's commandments...instead of your own flesh and this world's desires. Being a true Christian may break up families, jobs, and friendships. So count the cost beforehand! Jesus says in Matthew 10:37-39,

"He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it."

It's not something to take lightly at all. As a matter of fact...this is the most important decision you will ever make.

Please...I urge you to take some time to really consider this all. We make millions of decisions in our lifetime...but this one truly ranks as number 1 all time. If you would like to talk more about this, please feel free to send me a message or an email. It would be an honor to speak more to you.

My prayer is that you be saved from your sins by what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross, and that you strive to be like Him who is perfect. If you are truly saved, my prayer is that you look to Him as the only resource in life: because He is the only true resource. The things of this world are passing away. Don't find your primary love in hobbies, television, sports, work, or even friends and family. Abide in Christ alone...and other things in this world will then be seen in the right light.

"Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins..." -Acts 2:38

With the love of Christ,

-Alex
